I recently installed a nvidia 6200, 256 mb video ram, latest forceware driver, directX 9.0c, works great with other games and all my graphics programs but will not render for AC.

When I log in, I can sometimes see the chat box, but I get lines and blocks of colors in all directions, kind of like a abstract spider web.

I would love to get in and play the game, so if someone could help me out that would be great :)

Hi Meave,

Try turning off the Write Combining function on the videocard... I think it is in:
Display Properties
Settings
Advanced
Troubleshooting
Then there should be a check box to turn it off...

Reboot and try it... I hope it works!

Thank you for responding hun :)

I did what you posted and while my chat and side panel are stabel now, my character is still not rendering correctly. I can grab items off her and place them in my inventory ( if I am lucky to find one through the blocks of color) and it will change the view of the blocks and I will see the ground, or the sky which have rendered). Very very frustrating.

Thanks for you help.

Backup the file first incase this really breaks it...

[Render]
FieldOfView=90.00
SceneryDrawDistance=Medium
DisplayAdapter=0
LandscapeDetailTextures=False
ScreenBrightness=0.00
AspectRatio=Normal
TextureFiltering=Trilinear
LandscapeDrawDistance=Medium
GraphicsPerformance=0.00
AutomaticDegrades=True
DegradeDistance=50.00
TextureDetail=Medium
MultiPassAlpha=True
BuildingDetailTextures=False

Hope this works... Also you could try on that same screen where you turned off the Write Combining there should be an acceleration bar that can be adjusted down... try lowering that to see what it does for you...
