Yes.

2 Independents.
When given a choice between a Democrat and a Republican, I voted Republican.
When there was only a Democrat, I wrote in "None of the Above".

:p

dang Arch! heh

I can't believe that "Thu People's Hero-Phillip Morris NaPier" got 1k votes! Thu People's Hero-Phillip Morris NaPier is actually the name of one of the Maine candidate for governor. Nothing against him but I heard he has a rap sheet and one odd thing I heard about him is that he disapproves cops carrying guns (because he doesn't like cops).

I voted for an Independent for governor - suprisingly she's doing almost as good as the republican opponent but not as good as the democrat incumbent

I got a call on Monday telling me that Democrats were to vote on Tuesday and Republicans were to vote on Wednesday. So I go into the polling place today and it is closed. Now I'm pissed!!!

I also got a call telling me that if I went in on Tuesday I'd be arrested.

I also received a flyer in the mail telling me that I must be a legal US citizen to vote.

I was also told I needed to actually show identification to prove who I am to vote.

Yup, it was my civic duty.

My vote for Governor lost (Chandler Woodcock), but I was expecting the Democratic candidate to win. Baldacci (excuse while I spit, have to after saying his name) got 38% of the vote, Woodcock 30%, Merrill 21% (independent), LaMarche 10% (Green), and NaPier (independent nutball) 1%. Yes NaPier wanted to disarm police and call them peace keepers, and restore all rights to felons, including the right to own firearms. He was also in favor of some even stranger things, Maine would have an official nudist colony on state property if he had his way.

LaMarche sucked votes away mainly from Baldacci in my opinion, and Merril hurt Woodcock the most. NaPier's votes, who knows where they would have gone.

I voted Yes on Question 1 (Taxpayer's Bill of Rights), but given how people love to spend money in this state it was defeated. Maybe people will wake up and see the highest tax burden, one of the highest medical costs, and losing jobs is not a good thing for the state. Nah, they won't.

Well, you do have to be a legal US citizen to vote, just nothing requires you to prove it. Now if they were smart and required a voter ID card that required you show proof of citizenship before being issued, then that would help stop some fraud. Democrats don't like that idea though as they are well aware they get many votes from non-US citizens that love their handouts.

It's not suprising that you voted for Chandler ;). Honestly the guy had really no chance. If Merrill would go to the democratic/republican party before the next election, I really think she will win but I believe that she switched parties once already so she may not even make the primaries.
Btw I met Chandler at the Bonny Eagle/Deering football game this weekend and he honestly has no wtf he's talking about when it comes to football (another reason not to vote for him! haha j/k).

LaMarche never had a chance and she never will because she has very little experience in office (actually I believe none at all). To me she just seems to be power hungry (vice president for green party 2004 and now gov candidate for 2006) and not really in the interest of Maine.

And everyone knows NaPier will never have a chance because of his odd views for the state.

I voted yes on 1 even though (right now) it doesn't apply to me yet. I know that we pay the highest taxes (if not the highest in the nation) and so far I haven't seen anything that shows that they're going down so it's time for a change and try something new.

Looking at the results, he had a better chance then Merrill. ;)

Merrill is in about the same league as Peter Mills, so if she went Republican she would be fighting people like him for position. I don't think she would win that battle. She probably had a better chance as being the fiscal Democrat, battling the old stick in the mud spend happy Democrats.

Yeah she would have a better chance with the democratic party for sure.
