high res textures

when i enable em i must restart and when i do the client crashes and when i restart then all settings ar resetted and NO high res textures


any help?


or is there any way to reset the video settings from outside the game?

edit: my client always crashes when leaving world...

Can your video card support the high resolution textures? Check here (http://trial.ac.turbine.com/system_req.html) for the minimum and maximum requirements. Also, always update your drivers.

Another good idea is to close all programs running in the background on your machine. I'm going to guess that you have Windows XP - so press and hold [CTRL] + [ALT] + [DELETE] and then a menu should show up in the middle. Click the 'Task Manager' and close all of the programs EXCEPT these:
system
smss.exe
csrss.exe
winlogon.exe
services.exe
lsass.exe
svchost.exe (there may be multiple instances of this one, all required)
Explorer
spoolsv.exe

These are required programs for Windows XP. And to close them you just select the program and hit 'End Process'. Closing unwanted programs can sometimes help when an program running in the background is causing a problem with Asheron's Call.

The simplest thing to do is go to My Documents/Asheron's Call
and delete the UserPreferences file.

A new user preference file will be created with the default settings the next time you launch AC.
