It should appear in your add remove programs, that it is not, may or may not be an issue, it should be able to load regardless. If you go to Start, and then to all programs does AC appear there, does the option to uninstall appear? What installer did you use to install the game?

do a search on your full harddrive for the full name of the file..
Mine was at C:\Documents and Setting\Owner\My Documents\Asheron's Call
I got the game from www.direct2drive.com and I downloaded it and installed it..

Since Turbine requires an active subscription to post on these boards, I am going to assume that you have obtained a cd key and activated an account for AC.
Try downloading the game from http://download.turbine.com/ac1/ACToD_Install.exe
It sounds like you just got a bad download. Use a download manager so It the download stopped you can resume it.

Oh forget that I just re-read your post. First try running the game from c:/program files/tubine/launcher.exe. The my documents thing will probably create itself the first time you log on. If that works just make a shortcut to launcher.exe from c:/program files/turbine/launcher.exe to your desktop.
