View Full Version : Connecting, but not updating. Please Help

Last night I purchased Asheron's Call Throne of Destiny. I've been going through all the FAQs and I have tried everything, spending nearly 2 hours trying to fix my problem to no avail. When i log in to the server my connection bubble fills up; however, the update bubble does nothing and after about 30 seconds i get a message that says connection lost to the server. I have port forwarded the ports 9000 to 9013, i have turned off my firewall, and I went into the Asheron's Call folder and assigned port 9000 to the userpreferences and still the game does not update. I cannot find any more posts about how to fix this problem. Thank you.

Today I spoke with an online turbine employee, he had me update my router and go through port forwarding 9000 to 9013, but still I am having no luck.
Is there a firewall blocking your connection?

no i wrote in the first message that i turned off my firewall.

Some firewalls do not trun off when you turn them off.
Turn your firewall back on and add AC and the launcher to the accepted list. (note: If that is your problem youwill most likely have to delete and re-add AC and the launcher after each monthly game update).
Some motherboard chipsets come with their own firewalls. Most routers come with their own firewalls. Win XP comes with it's own firewall. Plus you may also be running a firewall that you have installed on your own. Take a look at windows task manager (<ctrl><shift><Esc>) and google every process running and see if there is a firewall running that you are not aware of. (note: even then I am not even sure if chipset or router firewalls will even show up in task managers processes).
Also some rare times you need to open the old ports (depending on your router). The old ports I have listed here: http://forums.ac.turbinegames.com/showthread.php?t=29009.

That sounds like a port issue, the second vial not filling up is the indicator that you are not connecting over port 9000. Verify that you have your port forwarding set up correctly. Guides such as www.portforward.com can assist you with that.
