View Full Version : AC2 server
So when are we going to get an AC2 server turbine? I miss it alot and this game is such a downgrade.
Who needs merchants, housing and all that silly stuff? Bring back the tumerok FI and the lugian bezerker, the drag your stuff and sell it in your pack.
AC2 was my first MMoG and I've played countless others since and none brings the originality of AC2 with it's unherd of mobs and races.
I find myself staring at my original cd set and would even just love to roam dereth in single player mode. ;)
Or mabye enable some sort of LAN so we can play with friends and family.
What say you?

If they didn't consolidate AC2 down to one or two servers and add it to the AC subscription when AC2 closed...they won't do it now.
Would of been the smart thing to do.

I still think they can.
Limit it to 1 world.
Everyone starts as new.
Price it as part of a package of AC, AC2, DDO and in the future, LOTRO.
Limit updates and the staff needed to support the game.
The game was so good near the end, but the subs had dropped too far to keep it viable.

There just simply are not enough AC2 players available to pay for the cost of the service. That is why Turbine closed AC2 in the first place. Insufficient money.
The problem with creating an AC2 server and allowing AC players to play AC2 is that Turbine will have to raise the subscription costs of AC to pay for AC2. The lack of money from running AC2 has not changed, if anything it is going to be worse because AC2 has been closed for 11 months.
I for one and not interested in having my subscription prices increased to pay for an option that I will never use.
AC2 is dead. Leave it that way...

I probably manage to find and post on every thread that suggests this, but that shows enthusiasm right?! ;)
I - for sure - would LOVE to see Sledge's suggestion done. It also seems like such a shame to waste the work and creative effort that went into AC2. As you said, despite the rocky start, the game really improved toward the end and you could feel that some love had been invested.

AC2 has been closed for 11 months.
And about 6 or 7 months ago when I was at BestBuy, I actually saw the AC2 User's Guide (the one that's sold separately from the game) for sale :D
