Hallo Bink,

Most likely is that your firewall or virusprotection is not open for the application.

Nividia gforce 6800 ultra, windows xp service pack 1

I have the same problem. I have uninstalled my virus protection and have no software based firewall. My friend sitting arcoss the table from me can open my account through the same network on his computer. I have updated my video, sound and network card, no solution. I then tried to slid his files on my computer, still no solution.

Windows has it's own built in firewall you can go to control panel to make adjustments to it.

You may need to disable it then install another free client like Zone alarm so you are not unprotected.

Here is a post I made to answer someone's related question.

This problem as the other people have referred to happens a good deal of the time on updates. For me the answer is to start the update and sign in then close it down, then go to my ZONE ALARM client and allow the AC client full access again. This happens every update because Zone Alarm and other firewall programs notice the change and are doing their part to protect your PC.

Never fear your PC is safe with AC and you should be A OK after this.

The only other problem most people might have is when their PC (through use of another program) has changed the port. For that just reset the port as described in the help files here.
