1 stick of unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon clove
1 cup light brown sugar
pinch of salt
1/4 honey

Mix dry ingredients together, then mix in butter till it is creamed. Add the honey and stir in till well mixed.

Add a heaping tablespoon to a mug, 2 ounces (more or less as you like) of your favorite rum. I would suggest Captain Morgan's Private Stock. Add boiling water, add a cinnamon stick, stir and enjoy.

Try to use fresh spices if possible, nothing like freshly ground nutmeg.

Maddy, your best post thus far, soon as I started reading it, the first thing I thought, was the Captain Morgan's rum, you almost have an Irish coffee here...~*Cheers!*~

This is one of the few mixed drinks I'll partake of (I consider adding ice to alcohol a mixed drink). Straight up is the best, but this works on cold evenings.
