View Full Version : So the Falatacot aren't the Big Bads

Asheron and Torgluuk are home and the Falatacot leaders are getting slammed on Bur on a regular basis by our intrepid explorers.
Where does that leave the storyline? Will Asheron point the way towards some new Big Bad based on some info he got in captivity. Maybe the Falatacot fell into the old bond villain style monologue trap and explained their master plan to Asheron assuming he'd never escape.

We have a flaming skeleton Isin Dule style armor. Not quite sure what that means (maybe the devs just thought it looked pretty and it has no real lore significance).

to be correct, the dericost first used that style armor. It was the updated look for armored skeletons and such with ToD. Later on in the Grael arc we started seeing shadow creatures with the same style armor but black. The only odd thing about the skeleton is that its using a viamontian sword. But again, they may have just giving it that weapon because it is newer, nicer looking art. Sort of like how the raven hand cult members use viamontian swords on Caul even though they have no connection (well unless you count dardante).
as for the subject of the thread...
The Falatacot may still be the big bad guy. In one of the recent in game texts (I think asheron's journal from the Bur flagging quest) he says he is going to Bur to stop something the Falatacot are planning. And in some other text, the Falatacot seem to know he is coming and set up a trap, which we now know worked. So whatever Asheron went to Bur to correct is probably still there.
Also, Asheron has been gone for some time. Its not clear exactly when he left with Torgluuk to Bur, but it at it could have been as far back as the middle/end of the Burun arc - whenever that article about torgluuk meeting with Asheron was released. they could have left to Bur a few days after meeting, or they could have taken months to plan something.
But my point is he's been gone for a while. He missed out on a lot of stuff. The minor story arc before Tod (shadow lugians & banderling attacks), the Viamontian invasion, the release of Grael, lots of shadow activity with the raven hand and Isin dule, and an attack on his island. He could be doing some "clean up" now.

Well we did kill all the current Falatacot leadership off over the past few months on Bur and here. If anyone is gonna fulfill their master plan it won't be them. Maybe Nuhmie will step up or some other Falatacot sect will appear.
The Asheron's Savior quest had a feeling of finality to it in terms of the Falatacot part of the story arc.

Well, we've been disappointed before. We will have to wait and see I guess.

My guess is that we are not done with the Falatacot just yet. Just because we spoiled their little party, doesnt mean that they are giving up.

I never did the asheron's savior quest. But, from the globals it seems like you kill the Three? I have no idea if these three sisters or whatever were already part of the falatacot lore or something created for this arc.
Anyway, since they have been killed more than once, they must have the same power as Aerfalle. So they could always come back.
Although I could also see the arc taking a new path this patch as well. We could start seeing a lot of nanjou activity and find out they are being used as pawns for dericost or shadows or something. Or something completely new could come up. We'll see in a few days.
