My college's Network Security fowards all ports and allows UDP access. However they use a security device that filters/blocks certain TCP requests. I was wondering if there is any way to play asheron's call without the use of any TCP components. I realize this is a ridiculous questions but I am hoping for the best.

I called the computer center here on campus but they said the game should work fine however they cannot disable the security device that filters TCP requests. Which is probably the reason why my ping is 35k. However I do not lose connection so the TCP requests go through they are just severly slowed.

Anyone know a way of getting around this?

You are not the first person to have issues with business or college security. There isn't any way of getting around it. There are probably five ways to fix the issue:

1) Play from outside the college network
2) Get your college to change its settings
3) Get another PC that is always on and outside the college (e.g. home). Using encapsulation / tunneling to send packets your PC to home. Home PC to the AC server. You will not get fluid response. Kind of laggy.
4) Run AC on PC at home. Use VNC or a similar program to export the display to campus. Same basic problem as 3
5) Have Turbine change the network code in AC.
