In your router don't forget to forward ports 9000-9012, this is needed if you have a router and a LAN setup.

i am having the same problem i can connect but i lose connection before it updates.
i have forwarded all of the ports, turned off allof my firwalls including the firewall within my router. i have deleted the file in my documents...and it still just WONT WORK!?!
can anyone shed any light on what they did to fix the problem after doing all of these steps.
i just want to play AC again
i have a siemens speedstream 4200 router.
Its also set to NAPT. if this is the problem i have absolutely no idea how to set it to NAT, or if that would even be safe to do....

Here is page for 4200:
http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Siemens/4200/Asherons_Call.htm
You will need to head to the Setup section for NAT/NAPT and switch it to NAT.
