Hey all. Use to play AC, have played off and on since '00. I want to start playing again, at least a little, since my account is still active, but I can't seem to get it to work. The update vial won't fill; I've never had this issue before. I've tried disabling all firewalls and whatnot and it just won't work.

Sooo.. Anyways, on to my computer setup.

ASUS M2N-E SLI Motherboard
AMD Athlon62 x2 4600+
1GB Kingston HyperX DDR2-800 RAM
2x XFX GeForce 7600GT Fatal1ty Edition in SLI
Netgear WG111T Wireless Adapter
Netgear WPN824 Wireless Router

On my old HP computer, AC worked fantastic. However, I'm not sure if I played after we bought the router to go with the wireless adapter's we'd bought; we got the 108MBPS adapters instead of 54 just incase we decided to upgrade, which we did. It DID work with the adapter though.

I tried port forwarding, but I wasn't sure what to forward ports to even while following guidelines on portforward.com, so it didn't do me much good.

Soo... Anyone have any ideas? This will be the only computer on the network playing AC, so I don't think there'll be any port problems... but I guess you guys know better than me.

And yes, I've tried the support system, I've done everything I know of. I don't use Norton or anything, and I completely disabled Windows Firewall, but to no avail.

Thanks for your time,

Hits-Mode.

After several hours for a few days of messing with the router, I've finally gotten it to begin patching a few minutes ago.

It was a rather basic fix, and I should've known this from the beginning. The whole time I was researching on why it wouldn't work, I kept telling myself that the problem was right in front of my face, and would be something stupid. I was correct.

So, I guess I'll let you know how I did it. You see, I was using firmware that was about four versions old. I thought it was the newest one because it's what my stepdad did when we got the router, but I guess he just got what came with it. I updated it, and it worked.

Anyways, I hope this can help someone that has a WPN824 router. We'll see if I get random portal disconnects like some people have reported with MIMO/Netgear routers, though.
