Doesn't anyone find it wierd that the olthoi, hell bent on taking over dereth, seem to be out of lore at the current present time. I mean, granted, we destroyed one olthoi queen, but a race bent on taking over would have more leaders than one. I mean the olthoi desimated the Empyrean, what are they waiting for, they seem very docile as of current timeline. Which leads to my next question, do they ever try to take over the surface again in the timeline of Asheron's Call (Both AC and AC2)? Does a new queen or multiple queens are discovered and become a threat? Or do the olthoi just fade away into nothingness because their one queen died? Seems like a very anti clematic way to end one of the deadliest races Auberean had ever seen.

Nobody knows. Nuhmudira had gotten into the Ancient Queen's mind and rocked it. After that retreat, who knows. Maybe it went insane?

According to turbine, don't the Olthoi follow a hive mind kind of thing, so one would assume if the queen went insane then all the olthoi would have followed suit? They dont seem too insane to me. Good hypothesis, im just trying to find out exactly what the olthoi are up to. I have a theory eventually their going to take over the surface or try...

we have the olthoi on dereth under control for the most part. The ancient queen came here by digging a tunnel from knorr. We didnt kill her but nummy messed with her head and she ran back to knorr, collapsing the tunnel behind her. Our main problem is all the young queens we have here now. Theres the queen(s) on Marae, and the many young queens/matrons in the olthoi armor dungeons and matron hives. This could be working to our advantage too though. all the queens may have power over their smaller hives but there isn't a leader here on Dereth, just a bunch of young queens - probably fighting eachother "behind the scenes" for dominance over dereth. Plus now that Asheron is back he's probably strengthened the wards around dereth or something to protect us from future outside olthoi attacks.

That cleared up alot in my eyes. So basically the only way the olthoi could infact retake the surface is for a leader to rise amongst their ranks, or the Ancient queen to return. Even if that happened they would need an outside source to destroy Asheron's wards if that is at all possible, since i dont think Olthoi are intelligent enough to manipulate magic.

They might not have the right "organs" or cognitive capacity to manipulate the mana streams, but they possess an inherent quality to negative magic. When Asheron and the Adepts of Knorr travelled to the Olthoi homeworld (at the behest of Emperor Kellin II), Asheron discovered that some of his protection magic faded away when the Queen approached. We haven't seen this in any big way with the Olthoi in Dereth (not counting the Altered/Mutated Olthoi, which are a Virindi creation), but it's still something to consider.

there is actually a breed of olthoi which weaken mana flow somehow. The players have never seen them, but this breed is one way the olthoi took down the empyrean. I believe they are described as looking something like the Olthoi Sentinel/Olthoi Primordial we see in game now.

The Olthoi on Dereth were left in a bit of a stupor when the One Queen (who was the core of their hive mind) was killed. After the Ancient Queen was taken over by Nuhmie, lesser Queens took over their own broods and are either happy to keep up their little territories (like Olthoi North), or they're similarly in a stupor.
The Olthoi on Marae Lassel are kept in check by a combination of the Aun Tumeroks' drumming and the Menhir Rings.
Which leads to my next question, do they ever try to take over the surface again in the timeline of Asheron's Call (Both AC and AC2)?
The Olthoi disappear for a while after the Fifth Sending, but seem to control a big chunk of Knorr, which is separated from the Isparian-controlled portion of the island by a big honking wall. At the end of AC2, the "True Falatacot" sic an Ancient Queen (not sure if it's the same one we fought) on us after first allowing it to tie to a Lifestone. The game pretty much ended with Asheron sealing everyone out of Dereth while he dealt with the Falatacot and Olthoi.

Out of the clouds from the heavens came a figure in the sky over Asheron's Island. Derethians cheered while the Olthoi Queen wept. In her final scream came " OH MY GAWD A FLY SWATTER!".
So ends the Olthoi Invasion. :D

"I" happened to the olthoi!
They are still one of my favorite critters to crunch. Well, to poke to death.
My character feels that the populace has overlooked the threat of the olthoi, and has made it his personal mission to reduce their numbers. *akimbo*
