Connection problem

I just bought a second computer and both computers are connected to the Internet with a router but they are not networked. Ever since doing this my original computer won't stay logged in AC. It'll be fine for awhile and then when I try to login again everything works until the screen where the character portals in. Then the screen stays black and I get disconnected again.

Any ideas on what I can do? Please be very specific and detailed as I'm pretty computer illiterate. :o
