TDs winner used 3 rares and took out his opponent in less than a minute. As for during the other 2 rounds, I can't be certain. It didn't seem to be too extreme, but then again I only lasted about 2 minutes :D

I used one rare in toruny the very finaly round (the guy used magicD rare). I won, rares were not a HUGE aspect.

Edit:I faught and killed an axer with a CS axe that had a bloodrinker rare on it. It was me vs him in one of the FFA's and I accidentally popped a missileD rare :D.

all the rares i used were givin so yeah

i popped a str rare 5 mins before tourn started...than a magic d rare 2 mins before tourn started..1 min into the fight i popped a coord rare and used pantom UA that was hitting him for 30s on speed and around 60s crits and killed cromson's mage in under 1 minute... was a gf (i'm a mage btw)

The plan was to have two rounds, where the winner of each round would face off in the finals for the Championship. 5 minutes before the event started there were only two of the registered people on. I didn't want a "duel" for the event, so I opened up registration on CG to get more participants.

The reason I didn't do 1 vs 1 duels is because it would take hours to complete an event on just one server. Would you really want to wait 3 hours before your first match even started? And if you won, would you then want to wait again until your next match was up?

I think that these events went really well and the majority of the feedback I got was positive. I'm sorry if you did not enjoy them or think that they could have been run better. We will be discussing the results of these events and I may or may not be holding another PKL/PK type event in the future.

If you have suggestions or feedback on what you liked or did not like about the event, please post them in these forums, that's what they are here for.

I mentioned this in CG that I was going to open registration and it would be a one round battle to the death. Unfortunately this was before you had logged in Bob so I can see how it caught you off-guard, I apologize for that.

First I just want to say a big thank you for running this event, it was quite a bit of fun. I hope you don't stop running them, due to a few issues.
Now with that said, here's some suggestions for next time:

I. Do not allow rare use.
II. Keep the same format as used before, just let people know in advance that it's a group fight free for all etc.

And for possible future tournaments, I'd like to make this suggestion.

Make a PK Colosseum Area, complete with NPC. How it would work is as follows:

A. There would be 5 locations inside the PK Colosseum, with an NPC outside.
B. Players pay the NPC 5MMD notes to get a ticket to get inside.
C. After 9 players are inside an area, the area is closed off to other players.
D. The last person left in this area is declared the winner.
E. The winner talks to the NPC to claim their prize. Prize would be:

I. XP, and a special PK Colosseum Ring Set similar to Colosseum.
II. Special currency is given to the player that is redeemable only at the PK Colosseum that is specific to PK Play. (Random amount of currency)
III. A special numbered ticket is given to the players who come out of the PK Colosseum standing. (Attuned/Bonded)
III. When you run the live event, the players present these tickets to be placed into the proper brackets for the tournament.
IV. Once placed, the players are summoned to an outside Roman Colosseum type arena where the tournament begins.
V. The last person standing at the end, wins the prizes.

This would be a PK/L Colosseum, open to everyone. If your red, you get the added bonus of looting those people you killed. If your pink, well you get to keep your stuff. ;)

And as an added bonus to red players, there would be boss rooms in this also.
They would be restricted to red players only, and the bosses you fight would be the following in no particular order:

Aerfalle's Undead Minions
Gaerlan's Elementals
Asheron's Golems
Martine's Hollow Minions
Nuhmudira's Scalavus
Olthoi Queen's Olthoi
Count Dardante's Viamont Troops
Grael's Mukkir

Rewards for beating all of this in an hour would be as follows:

I. Special PK Only Ring Set (Made specifically for PK fights)
II. XP similar to Colosseum's
III. PK Titles
IV. Trophies, that when hooked on house hooks, cast special PK specific beneficial spells.
V. Special appearance by BZ/BZ's Aspect if you complete it, complete with a unique title.

Curious... Geneva, you said it'd be hard to do 1v1 tourny cuz it'd take so long.

However, what if you had a bunch of arena set up for this? Just empty rooms of some sort. Say 25...

20 people dueled in 10 of the rooms, then portals are opened in them for the winners. They go on to be portaled to (when they clck a door or something that spawns) another room with a PK. Then it happens again and so on.

You'd need like 25 rooms let's say. Then if more people join you can do the tourny thing in two chunks and have winners face off.

I dunno, just an idea since a 1v1 tourny, aside from taking longer than one big free for all, sounds like fun.

Biggest flaw in that is 9 people would go in and plan the 1 winner. Repeat, and for 40 MMD's you can be the winner of the PK Colo

Uh, you must not PK much if you think a small space is "melee paradise"

It's quite obvious to anyone that knows anything about PK that small spaces are bett for mages as it restricts a melees room to dodge.

Just an idea regarding rares... I haven't really kept up with the discussion, so I apologize if this has been mentioned already.

I'm not sure how the spell tech works, but would it be possible to set it up like the following:

Admin portals participants to a staging area.
Admin spwans a NPC that erases all spells of the level that rares are and does not allow players entrance to the arena if they have a rare gem in their pack.

The downside is that players will have to remove their rares from their participating character prior to being able to enter the arena, which may be a bit more preparation work, and some will undoubtedly forget. Also, how do you prevent combat in the staging area?

I didn't rare throughout the fight. It was probably Kris and Erushi that rared.

Anyways from the screenies the arena that players pvped in had more then enough space for a melee to dodge well. The only one who'd probably complain are the melees who go to the edge of the radar to heal because they suck at dodging.

Critting for 140+ isn't temp... that means your armor is horrendous and you don't have frost ward. That's your fault.

Good armor + frost ward = 75 - 95 crits.

Most people I hit for 90 crits and 100 to 120 crits though.

If someone dies while critting for 140, even if it's just on single piece places, he *NAUGHTY WORD*. You should die if your armor is that bad.

Why? Because I have a nVidia GeForce 7600 GT (a bit old now but so worth its price), and the majority of AC players have crappy computers...namely Bone King...so, if you made a really FPS-laggy dungeon...I'd win by default!

Note: Something puzzles me, though. You remember that Bur live event a while ago? I still had Multiplicity then and I was there and apparently I was one of FEW people who got 2 FPS even at lowest possible settings.
