I PM'd this idea to Django but I'll also post it here to get some feedback on it and what people think.

The one thing about Xp Lever dungeons is they promoted some good, oldschool style, pvp amongst players are your general level. That was alot of fun and I kinda miss that so I wish they'd reimplement them in a different way. My suggestion would the following:

I'd instead of having Xp Levers would put in trophy style monsters like the golds on Viss or the bosses on Dark Isle. In addition to the xp trophies they drop they also provide increased chances at getting majors/minors and they also drop more items like the bosses and golds do.

The level ranges would be something like this: 20 - 40, 41 - 60, 61 - 80, 81 - 129. Also, if they were implemented on white servers they could be restricted to red players only (and also implement it so its easier to go red there). That would definately rejuvenate red pvp on white servers again.

Level like everyone else...giving free levels is BS. Plan and simple. If your not hunting you dont level get over it!

Giving carebear converts a free character when everyone else on DT has struggled through each and every level is unfair. Complain that DT macros yadda yadda yadda..but DT does this MUCH less then a carebear server because we can actually police ourselves and log/kill macros.

Don't ever expect XP levers to come back. People made macros and were killed endlessly by [active] players causing the server to lag.

if you call hiting start on your macro a struggle than ya most of dt did "struggle" to get there level

I should have clarified it a little better. YOu don't have the xp levers anymore, just the trophy monsters.

did anyone read what he said? this is more of just better hunting for lower levels

i like this idea, pking in levers was the most fun i'd had in a while

to add to it:

like levers, each trophy could be worth a % of next level, something like 20-30%, but each be on a pick up timer, like 5-10 minutes

would give something to fight over for lower levels, and restrict it to lower levels only.

i know of a few places in those level ranges where i can level faster than 30 minutes per level already, only you don't have to fight over them, and on the rare occasion you do its with someone at least 2x your level

It was Turbines fault for essentially "ruining" the levers. They put em too close to a lifestone, and it wasn't long till players took advantage of that. What they SHOULD have done was make it a random portal, like the humming crystal portal. And possibly have it boot you out after 10-15 minutes also?

The lever dungeons should be implemented once again but changed a lot. Perhaps instead of creatures you could use random spawning tokens in the dungeon that would have to be given to an NPC for XP at a later time. Each token would have a time limit on when they can be picked up. Or just use creatures like the original poster suggested.

Main complaints people had with the dungeons:

1. People were macroing the levers then constantly dying, creating mass lag on the server.

2. Others complained that it made it too easy for white server players to attain levels where as us Darktiders had to actually earn them.

**WHO CARES? In case no one has noticed, Darktide is practically DESERTED. I'd rather have 200 new carebears running around than waiting 20 minutes to see another red dot.

These are a few reasons why it should be re-implemented:

1. The above ideas would get rid of the lag/macro issues and give us back something to fight over.

2. It gets rid of having to level your charecter up to a point where he/she can have ANY chance at competing with the rest of the server.

3. It lets us PvP on mid level charecters instead of having to use all of our maxed out fully majored up charecters.

He didn't say ANYTHING About XP Levers coming back.

He said make areas of hunting like Vissidal for lower levels with XP Trophies.

We have no plans to bring back the levers in any way shape or form. The problems they presented not only to the server hardware but to the game itself far outweigh any benefits that could come from them being back.

We are always looking for alternative ways for people to move forward, but at this point we do not want to make it too easy to gain levels. It is a delicate balance that is always something we have to watch very carefully.

Please also note that while Django may be on here alot, he is in our QA team and he is very busy. Please address isues like this to myself or one of the developers.

LOL! I can not believe you actually typed those words, Silent. Show me 12 people on DT that play who actually had to "work" at leveling. Hell, I got to 150+ in < 3 months and was NOT macroing 24/7. I personally idolize the folks who take advantage of anything in AC (implemented or exploit) and then complain if someone else can take advantage of it.
