..for live events.

How about creating about 20 or so new villas that can only be purchased with a Geneva Token (or something like that) and have them located in some of the more scenic areas of the game. (like close to the bridge near the Fiun Outpost and a few lone-island villas, etc...) maybe make them just a little better than regular villas. (3 chests, new designs, a few more hooks, etc...)

Not a good idea.

First, wait a few weeks for the announcement on turbine stopping paying rent. After that you should see some villas opening up in the next month.

Second, if turbine were to ever add more villas, this would be just about the worst way to do it. A select few players who just happened to be on during a live event get to purchase super exclusive villas in great locations and with an extra chest and other bonuses no one else has? And the purchase item for these villas would be a special token from that live event, so once someone owns a villa it can never be traded as there are no more tokens available in game to buy them. Oh, and Varicci wouldn't allow Elysa's arcanum to build homes on his land, so you can cross the isle of ruin bridge location off the list.

If Turbine seriously wanted to add more villas, the only fair thing to do would be release them like they did when houses first opened.

And to add more houses, turbine would probably want to delete empty cottages and apartments. Which isn't as easy as it sounds, because the apartment/cottage would have to be empty across all servers. It could be done though, if turbine was interested in adding more homes, which they don't seem to be.

I have enough villas. I'm just looking for portal storms here! :D

I do agree that all live events should be scheduled and posted in advance.

I have to agree with Adventurer that exclusive villas as rewards for a Live Event I don't believe is a good idea. I know the 20 people that got the villas would think it was great, but the hundreds that didn't would be up in arms (and I can't say that I'd blame them).

Don't be afraid to shoot more ideas out though Dragon-Tide, thats what these forums are for.

Well you make a good point but look at the numbers.
Would it be "hundreds" that were upset? If 100 people showed up to each live event, that would be wonderful, and with the current 1-100 reward system, the odds are that only one will be given away each event. (but no guarentee of that) It could easily go over a year before all villas would be taken, and 20 was just a ballpark number.... Also, when you concider how many folks play the lottery with a one in a ga-gillion chance of winning, many will feel that one in a hundred is well worth the effort.

I try not to think of ideas that would give anyone too much advantage over another and not too hard to program into the game. Other rewards ideas of mine are: A gem that would reset all quest timers for one character. An uber xp token of about 4-8 billion. A special dye that can be used on shields.

They prob gave out a hundred of those tokens on MT. Maybe more even.

I got 3 on diff chars... and some of them were given out as rewards for things (I believe, someone said they got 10).

Those were Hero Tokens. (which were also given away as consolation prizes) The rewards I suggested would have to be strictly on the 1-100 chance upon completion of a task.
