View Full Version : Mudmouth Bane Title Tokens...

So we did the live event on SC and all went well. However, after Mudmouth was killed, some guy held the corpse open for the whole time until it disolved, so not many people got the Mudmouth title tokens... This was pretty sad since most of the people who did the work to kill him didn't even get a title token.

We all went to the cave and killed Mudmouth again, but the Mudmouth that was at the cave gave the other title token (the ones that were on the ground at the event).

Am I to believe that because of some jerk at the event, I can't get the Mudmouth Bane title?

Mudmouth tokens were spawned on the ground as well as being on his corpse, in all the events I've watched I've seen many Mudmouth tokens sitting on the ground while a giant pile of people stand on the corpse.

The tokens are created for a while, I can't be sure of exact numbers because it depends on how many people are picking them up and how quickly.

I must have missed it then. I saw piles and piles of the other tokens, the ones that are still available, but no mudmouth bane tokens.

I actually had Token listed in my search critera, while there were tons of prodigal tusker slayer tokens, there were no mudmouth ones. I have to agree with Atarax. Hoping there will be another chance at it.

The live event on Solclaim was fun, but not without it's share of problems.
First the good then the bad.

The Good

I. Nice spawn of mobs and two boss types.
II. Announcement of the event before and as it was starting was good.
III. Interesting storyline with the Mudmouth and Dark Bobo characters.

The Bad

I. Portal Storms (This brings back memories)
The portal storms where very annoying to say the least. There where at least 60+ people in Qal when this went down and many people got repeatedly portal stormed away. (I was one of them)

II. Not enough tokens and dark paws where dropped to cover the amount of people attending the live event.

Dark Paws especially. I was told only one stack of 12 dropped besides those which where on Dark Bobo. The disintegration timer on these where no more then 10seconds, because the instant they dropped, they disappeared.

III. No admin broadcast that Dark Bobo was attacking Monkey Island. People found out through the players in general chat.

IV. People holding corpses for their mules, and then letting them disappear.

V. No Hero Tokens where given out.

VI. Many players who attended the live event did not get the two tokens and dark paw. I ran Dark Bobo immediately after it was over because of this fubar.

Overall this was frankly a mess and one of the single worst live events I've been apart of, in over 7+ years. Part of it was admin fault and part was players griefing, but overall it was very poorly handled.

Everyone who attended this live event should have received the rewards, bottom line.

The fact that this did not happen, is just plain wrong. The admin should have:

I. Appeared and told the players to stop holding the corpses or be removed from the area.

II. Cleared all corpses and spawned all three items. Two tokens and dark paws for everyone.

III. Provided Hero Tokens as promised to everyone.

IV. Announced when Dark Bobo was attacking Monkey Island.

The fact that none of that was done is a major problem.

I ran Dark Bobo immediately after the event was over for anyone who needed a Dark Paw. And announced it over general chat as I always do for my public quest runs.

People where outraged in general chat across this server because of this mess.
Many players logged off in utter disgust, cursing Turbine's name.

This is not how you run a live event. Like I said above everyone who attended this event should have been rewarded, not treated like this.

You guys need to have rules when you run a live event and stick to them each and every single time. Sure we are all there to have fun, but when it turns into such a huge nightmare because of not enough items are dropped, players holding corpses griefing other until corpses disappear and the Admin does jack about it is when I have a serious problem with it.

It's rare enough that we have live events, let alone scheduled ones. But when it turns into a royal mess like it did on Solclaim last night, it seriously makes me want to stop attending any and all live events in the future.

Gonna have to say that on MT, there were not nearly enough tokens spawned/on corpses.

Would be very nice if you could repeat the event on the servers.

Maybe Turbine could add a Mudmouth bane token on the corpse of mudmouth? Even if its 1 token per corpse, it would be better than nothing...

Thank you Turbine for doing the live event again. I was able to get both tokens this time. <-- Very happy. Thanks for your support!!!

I know, and the logic behind that decision completely escapes me. It certainly doenst increase customer satifaction when you miss an event you could have attended because it was unannounced, especially when so many people were dissapointed after not receiving their rewards the first time it was run.

To be spontaneous. An event could happen any day or night at any time.

The first round of the Mudmouth events were advertised so all that were able to, could attend. It was posted that after the initial scheduled events, they would be run again unscheduled.

From the Asheron's Call Update: 8/15/07
We will be running a series of live lore based events for the August event. We have a set schedule for these events, but we will also be running them randomly as well.

Which would have been fine, had the initial scheduled event provided rewards for all who attended.

What didn't you get at the live event that you can't get at the quest?

You can get the Prodigal Tusker Slayer title on the quest, not Mudmouths Bane
