Last 7-10 days or so i was having massive log in issues where i'd log in and then be re-directed to the man forums page. clicking on a specific forum moved me there BUT logged out.

could not stay logged in for any reason, and assistance after 3 or 4 reports was of no help only offered if you still having this problem send info a , b, c, d

of course they didn't really mention WHERE to send the info which if a human had read the intial 4 reports was always alread included.

WELL i've disocvered the problem, it was all cookie related. Turns out none of the other 6 or 7 sites i visit had a problem with the cookies change so it was more difficult to isolate as I'd made no changes and all the problems seem related to Turbine site.

I say i made changes, well i'd had a CD-Rom repaired and the folks (gawd i want to use abusive get your self baned language to describe these folks which i did in several emails to those ______) had updated windows for me - despite the fact i'd done a save point 3 days before taking in and doing updates. they restored all the stuff i'd marked don't ever bother me again with this notice (crypto for card reader type of stuff I don't have don't use or dont want). and they installed the IE 7 i'd been ignoring ever since it was released as a glitzy POS in favor of IE6 a workhorse with out graphic doo-dahs.

well that IE7 installataion was the problem and then and update of the Firewall.

so please add to your data base if you arrive at forum page logged in but move to a forum and logged out IT could or may be a cookie related situaation

Glad you got your problem fixed.. IE security settings...ugh.. But as a web designer, I'd still take 7 over 6 (holy crap talk about BUGGY POS) any day of the week.. :p

As for those people touching your junk... I'd rip them a new one.. I'd be demanding some compensation for that... For all they know they could have royally screwed up your system.. That's why I feel so bad about wanting to work w/PC's for a living.. I know I'd end up at some crap company that mostly hires idiots who managed to pass some cert test, but don't know anything; and probably have a policy of parting the customer with their money by any means on top of it.. Bless the mom & pop stores, what a dying breed.
