View Full Version : More XP on DT

As a returning player, being less than maxxed out really makes it hard to fight other mages. I have a grand total of 90 mmds, where most who have been playing for years have thousands of MMDs. The majors I find are usually pretty terrible and nobody will buy them, and my character can't quite handle the best major spots yet. So i'm stuck in a horrible suit without most of the wards and majors I need to survive on DT (especially against a melee), attempting to max my character out without taking a full year, so I can then begin to grind for majors, and finally I can go and join in the PvP. I understand that on white servers, you can sit in Eggs and Path of the Blind for 8 hours a day without anyone touching you, but on DT, maxxed out players come into the dungeons every 20 - 30 minutes, and i'm talking a dungeon that my allegiance "owns". I end up making like 300 - 400 million xp a day, and thats over the course of 6 - 7 hours because i'm interrupted so frequently and have to fight other players. I can't really discourage these other players to leave me the hell alone, I mean, i've killed one to the point where he's dropping tinkered weapons, and yet he just keeps coming back for the sole purpose of keeping me from leveling. They're totally maxxed out and when I threaten to raid their allegiances dungeons, he laughs because he doesn't need to level any longer. So boost the XP so I and others can join the fight, thats the only reason i'm paying for this game. Theres nothing I can do to discourage these players from entering said dungeons.

easier than ever to level on DT

easier than ever to make mmds

majors take time, I didn't max my guys out & get them uber major suits overnight

Warning: Players on Darktide may experience a very harsh existence!

Go play on frostfell if you can't handle not being maxxed out on darktide.

Your statement would have been valid 4 years ago when the player who won a fight relied on who was a more skilled player rather than who had the better suit. Especially since the players who're raiding the dungeons are melees or archers and all I have is a crappy al 400 suit with no wards and they're maxxed out completely with uber maxxed out CB weapons who have full wards and tank 4+ wars without dieing. PvP in Asheron's Call is based more-so on gear and grind now than it ever was.

so to make it less based on gear you suggest making it easier to get gear & exp?

great logic there

Easy to say when people give you maxed out characters to play. Haha.

Lots of people play borrowed characters...

Don't really want to name names because turbine is Edit like that

Yeah, because returning players and new players have pretty much no way to get those 20k mmds required to make a full decent suit, and all the high level guys with uber suits hunt the uber major dungeons, and they're all maxxed out. The newer or returning players basically get screwed. You used to be able to go out in wilderness, kill a couple great mattekars, find some crappy celdon leggings, and of course level in wilderness, and you'd be able to compete just fine. Now you have to have 10x perfect major suit thats al 470+ or you die easily to melees and archers.

Hey silent I read barely any of your posts but I don't see why you would talk about skill since you have none at all. You run on sight lol.

Next time learn to make paragraphs. I doubt you've killed anyone higher level then you solo unless they were TFK or Powers Inc. Either way you whine too much. THis is DT, it's suppose to be hard to level etc. If you have no wards and only al 400 armor then you must be really bad at AC. Max al armor is easy to find and tink up. Wards on jewelry are only 30-50 MMDs.

You can make up to 300+ million an hour on Dark Isle as a mage. Get a clue, your dungeon spot is suppose to be raided. Defend it if you want xp, if you can't go somewhere else and stop whining. Looks to me like you just want to macro nonstop without interruptions, why are you even on DT at all?

I didn't even bother more than a few lines of the first post, because it sounds like a whiny little kid that is upset the older kids have more things because they've been around longer.

1. It is easier than ever to level.

2. The loot system is ridiculously good for money. You can make an MMD in 15 minutes of killing things around starter towns.

"As a returning player, being less than maxxed out really makes it hard to fight other mages."

Your first sentence proves you don't belong on DT. Other mages? Mages are the easiest class to fight when you don't have anything but AL armor and a weeping wand.

This line was a typo, I meant to say melees.

Just wanted to make sure I got this right:

You're complaining that you can't catch up with people who have been loyal to the game for years because you left and came back starting fresh?

Isn't that the way it's supposed to be?

I think there are some players out there who just aren't as good at AC as the average player, and they feel they should be compensated for their lack of knowledge and skill so they can be on a level playing field with the average player.

Go back to the frostfell forums Hottie. I'm amazed at how many people don't actually read the post, or fail to understand what i'm saying. No, i'm not complaining that people are raiding, i'm complaining that by defending from the raids, I make a ridiculously low amount of XP. Make no mistake, I do defend the dungeon, it's just that last time people started raiding, they would just keep coming back over and over again when they kept dying which lead to an extremely low amount of XP over the course of 5 hours.

As for 150, yes, I know a mage can make 300+ mill an hour on that island, but its repetitive and gets boring after an hour or two. I'm also trying to level a melee, which is worthless on 150. Not everyone has 4 - 5 hours to devote each day to actively hunting.

Sounds like you have 5 hours devoted already. Or maybe youre just macroing and upset that your macro keeps getting interrupted. Time to find a new spot then maybe?

If you really need xp i cant see DI being repetitive enough that you cant hunt there for an hour a day for ~300 mil. At that rate you could max a skill every 2 weeks.

First off, I play on DT, and I've killed you lol. You're not that good.

Secondly, your statement says one thing and one thing only:

My macro keeps getting raided, and I can't handle playing on DT.

I had a guy in my old allegiance who sucked, another leader made the comment that this guy sucked, but kept believing that if he just got more xp and better gear he'd be a decent pvp'er.

It helps, but it wont make a bad pk good.

Unless he's a melee :D.

Lol, no. To be honest I cant actually remember his ig name, just his RL one. He actually was a melee, but this was before melees were overpowered.
