This October AoC (age of conan) was supposed to be released, it seems abit slow from the pre beta videos. But it has FFA server and the PVP is very skill based. melee/range/spells. Most Darktiders are interested in trying this game. This game got postponed til next march i believe. Because nowadays you can't risk a bad release.

But this is a huge break since population of servers would take a massive hit if that game got released. So please use this extra time wisely and really work to please the community. I really like AC i have since i played it from day one when i downloaded some silly beta. Then release game no CC and gaming cards wasn't option back then. so i never got into it until like 2003ish for abit then came back 2004. Since then basically be playing now for like 3-4 years. this isn't a threat about hey we will leave if nothing happens.

Just letting you know, new games are coming out some tending a bit to pvp since the market is there. ppl know the reason most ppl left WoW because of PVP and they wanna tap into those gamers. A lot of them came back here or to (DOAC/UO/etc) and i'd like to think i can stay here but we really need to hopefully see some results. Beginning this year you said you were working on land control and a quest log. It's basically november and neither exist. There been 1000 suggetions things that really help and nothing.

it saddens me really.

But u have some hope thse games have been postponed please show your loyal fan you want to keep them here and come though with the things you talk about.

Regards.

agreed, just follow through for once with what you say you're going to do. Put the o.0 crap on the back burner for a little while and focus on DT's needs.

That's why I'm posting here. If Turbine doesn't do something radical to spice up DT, then it's going to be finished by one of these new PvP games. DT will still have the advantage in harsh environment, since none of these games will go with item drop on death and probably not even anything like VP. I'm also willing to bet that the PvP will be "arena" based, and there will be safe zones all over the place. AC can still stand out if they bring the harsh environment back, by getting rid of safe zones, reducing multiple dungeons, and so on. Even some sort of land control, since I personally don't care enough about XP to really fight for it.

If AoC is anything close to AC its over.

If AoC is anything close to AC its over.

AoC has a different combat style in that you aim your shots and your melee swings with your cursor.

I have no idea if it is a threat to AC1 PvP or not but it will probably be substantially different in game play.

Unless AoC completely overhauls the concept of leveling in an MMORPG I'm not certain that I would want to spend hours grinding on mobs while having to aim. Maybe they have something else in mind for leveling.

You don't aim your melee attacks with a cursor. You have combo arrows and you choose the combo arrows and attack based on the direction i believe. Then u string those arrows together to set up bigger combos. I'm really excited about it though, spell weaving sounds cool having to aim spells/arrows manually and even melee combat is new and innovated might really put a thorn in macroing side. Apparently mobs will learn react if you keep doing same attacks so you want to attack where there shield isn't etc.

Tcos has something similar to VP. you get Personal experience points PEP. basically the long you stay alive and kill without dieing the more of these you get. I believe there is a max. Anyways it increase your stats makes you stronger more damage etc. When you die i think these go to 0 or into the negatives thus making you weaker. Until u go kill stuff to get your pep back. I don't think it will be hard to get it's not like losing lvl experience it's something separate.

Example.

Say PEP maxes at lvl 5 and at lvl 5 you do 10 more damage and have 50 more health.

someone pep lvl -5 would do 20 less damage and have 100 less health.. something like that i dunno exactly how it works but goes to that extent. So you need friends to try and help you stay alive to get it back. Thats how they seemed to put it. TCOS will not have Open FFA server. They have an FFA pvp server (you can kill anyone any time as long they are in certain zones) they guaranteed that there be a lot of these zones and that these zones contain the best items etc and materials drops. So seems these zones are more damaging but basically seems like Wow IDEA with no sides.. anyone can kill anyone long they are in the correct zone.

But as said as for a harsh environment AC will win looting other ppl items just somthing a lot of ppl are afraid of.

AoC will have land control though, you can take a town and own that town and get benefits from your guild owning that town and it can be invaded by other guilds etc..

so plz

use this time to save AC.
