Having a problem running AC on my laptop

I'm running Windows XP SP2
Pentium 4 3.2ghz
1gb of ram

I've disabled all non-windows services so there shouldn't be any software conflicts.
I'm not running decal or dual client.

The launcher runs fine but as soon as I choose a server and click next, the launcher closes (as it should) and then nothing happens. I check the task manager after that and there's nothing new.

Its all very confusing, any help would be much appreciated.

What video card does your lappy have?
Outside click my computer then pick manage.
Check the error log.

Ok, so you got me thinking and I installed the latest drivers for my graphics card. No dice.

My graphics card is a Radeon Mobility 9600/9700

The error log is empty.

Alright, I rebooted again after installing the graphics driver update (2x reboots) and it magically worked this time. So it was obviously my display drivers.
