AC crashes during login/portaling

Almost every time I portal in somewhere, recall, or even log in I get disconnected from the server. It shows me portaling in, my character is bubbly, I can see the world around me and get chat for 10-20 seconds, then I redlink. If I try to log back in the same character, it will just redlink as soon as I log in. This happens so often it makes the game unplayable, I cant go 5 min without having to relog.

I am on a netgear wireless WGT642 v3. Tried it with firewall off, no change. All ports forwarded no change. Set up static ip and added my pc to the router dmz, no change. It is not possible to directly connect to the modem, it is also not possible to directly connect to the router. Also AC is the only game that gives me problems, i can play 10-20 other only games (about 3 other mmos) without a single problem.

Because of the way that AC transmits data, many wireless connections will have issues when changing zones or using a portal. Some things you can try:

1) Delete the client_cell_1.dat file located in the main Asheron's Call directory (default is c:\Program Files\Turbine\Asherons Call - Throne of Destiny
2) Open the UserPreferences.ini file located inside the AC directory inside My Documents and set the line "UserSpecifiedPort" to say "UserSpecifiedPort=9000"
3) Some routers allow to set priority on certain packets. This would involve router settings changes, so you may need to contact your router manufacturer in order for assistance with this.
