Here is the best lore from AC2 about the Book of Eibhil.

It details how the Archons (how are currently outside Samsur collecting Mnemosynes) got the book for Geraine who then presumably used it to crush the Mhoires and gave it to Rytheran for safe keeping. In AC2 the Archons stole it back and nearly destroyed the world with it.

Geraine has a conversation with the physical manifestation of Eibhil who is a Falatacot Witch. However, Eibhil was just consumed by the book not the actual author it appears.
