If AC 2 was AC 1 gameplay with the upgraded AC 2 graphics.
MMO history would be much different.

Ultima Online is a good example of a MMO that stuck to its roots. It cancelled its sequel because it realized that even if they graphics would be better it would lose subscribers and fragment the player base. The game is/was a success for a reason, and now, even today, they are developing ANOTHER expansion pack (release in 2009) for the original UO game that was launched in 1997. That's how you keep a game going.

would require complete rewriting of ac. Which would take alot of manpower, idk i just think turbine should make it an open source project or something, allow their loyal fans to do as much of the work as possible for them. Which im sure alot of people would be willing to do, or at least i would be. if they would have started this 2-3 years ago i bet ac would be rollin with some sweet graphics now. although to avoid the fragmentation issue you'd have to hope everyones computer could handle it and give free copys to existing customers

Amen.

afraid NOT.

the class action lawsuit against ____ by formerly unpaid workers put a total end to any customer involvement in a commerical enterprise.

i missed playing my defender in ac2, it would be cool to have "Anscension Shrine" to unlock new class archtypes in AC.

AC need to have "vault quests" like AC2 did had. it sound perfect time to "built" those vaults to use with crystal glyphs.

AC does need upgrades, but not those several "hardware upgrades" that we had for years, and subscriptions are getting lower, then what good for new hardwares?
making AC in new game engine and decent graphic upgrades just enough to handle some massive numbers of mobs instead of boring limited 1vs1 or 1 vs 2 or 3 like in many other games.

both DDO and LotRO failed to meet my playstyle and expectations of "fun games" instead of working to grind for skills or traits as i seen in LotRO and still feel totally gimped that made me depressed, not fun as playing AC's free form level up choices.

i can see why AC2 failed, skills are somewhat too resticted like LotRO, hate that feelings of choking on my characters.
blame on those nerf bats.
more nerfings and players leave the game, and the devs must carefully test completely without having any further future nerfs to keep players happy.

i want to see those "Artefun Armors" in AC, i missed my ruby, sapphire, and emerald armor sets so bad. Tyrant armors look cool too.
so why not in AC once again?

huh? i played drudge in AC2, they are so much fun.
blame on CEO, decided to pull the plug just barely 30 days after Legion just released, it didnt give us much time to recover and spread the word it got improved after so many bugs to stomp out.
i enjoyed playing first ever monster rpg, see "LotRO's monster rpg" concept. so much fun that i went thru ruby armor made for drudge, it was awesome designed quest. and they are funny to laugh with.
so do you ment that those "Tuskers" left the game? lol, that could be why :)

i think famous quote by drudge's seer, "the Stars had spoken" or something that crack me up.
be the Nailer, or be the Fire Hurler, or Be the Clubber, drudges have the rules, and there is no rules.
