We have a Wireless DSL Router/Gateway from Belkin, and the d--n thing won't connect to AC for more than 3 minutes at a time!
Any suggestions? I've messed w/ DMZ and Application Gateways, even turned on uPnP and turned off the firewall feature. There's not really a way to connect the computer to the modem because the cables are wired in the roof - - and everyone in the house would be pissed if they lost their connection; sharing sucks.
Surely I'm just not enabling some feature. Unless there's a router out there (Belkin) that just isn't compatible with AC? Someone has to have an answer, please!!

There have been just general connection issues regarding using wireless networks. It is not really so much a problem with the type of router, but rather just the system in general.
I have a wireless router, and I know that my linksys/SMS combo has similar issues.
One POSSIBLE problem could be your computer attempting to jump onto another nearby WAN, in which case the best solution would be to force your computer to use only your network (either by using WAN Encryption or by making exclusive to your router's network name). I don't know if this will solve your problem, but it may at least reduce occurences.

I don't use the Wireless Access- There are 4 ports on the back of the router, one connected to my computer.

Even using a cable connection people with wireless routers are having a lot of problems. I took a belkin and a linksys back then got a linksys besfr41 hard wired router. Worked right out of the box after running the config cd. on 4 computers.

not to spam but...
i tried putting my computer in the DMZ(using a belkin wireless router)
and than tried seeing if ports ar eopen(also "opened" those ports as instructed) and none of them are auctually open...
i have NAT enabled, but when i tried to disable it, it seems the internet connection doesn't quite work...

I did the smart thing and got a Linksys. Now everything works perfectly and the whole setup took 5 minutes... All I needed to change was the default gateway.
Thx for all the help.
