if anyone remembers or knew AC2's concepts.
those regional local vaults base on levels and use lore of the glyphstones.
i just feel it maybe a perfect time to "built" those vaults if they upgrade the game engine to match what AC2 had, but personally, as for new players, most of the hostile mobs lack many major history, we just had to search and find many scattered Explorer books written by Martine Candeth before his fatefull battle with Gaerlan.
to built vaults would make sense for ex-players of AC2 and new players that never played AC.
the purpose of this plan was to tell more depth and where these mobs came from, Drudges, Mosswarts, and Banderlings, and how did the shadows emerged from hiding, and how did the lugians were xenophobia and how they decide to form alliances, virindi are somewhat mysterious energy race.
Buruns and Vaimontians are recent discovery for Isparians/Derethians.
new players still dont know what happen to original town settlers or about those Olthoi bugs, and Tumerok wars.
those nexus towns would have heritage vaults before expanding to local regional vault about those mobs, and further deep in hostile areas to learn more of those lethal local mobs of high ranks.
these would be nice additional concept for library vault which maybe repeated like pinchers or tuskers on timers if turn in lost books for xp. those folks work in library does need new books to recover that lost in dungeons or forgotten ruins.
maybe unlock new skills that helps arcane lore, or open up new skill traits, or revive "item idenification" that was used years ago before we got tinker skills, or improve loot search.
someday, i hope to see AC will get new set of weapons, pre-fettermound era "glyph weapons" and new set of pyreal ores. (iron, ebon and that white version) for different level tiers.

what planet are you living on ... "if they upgrade the game engine." or what drugs are you on? upgrading a game engine isn't possible, it is far easier to just make another game.
why would i care where drudges, etc came from? i want em dead and all their valuables mine.

drudges are playable in ac2's final expansion, Legions.
we do need to expand additional PvP flavor, by playing mobs like as in LotRO did succesfully after learning from AC2's early concept.
what i meant, to get new game engine on the new game format upgrades just as close to AC2 and still keep original skill base game as it is been for years.
it just my opinion to revive interesting old game by getting those long ago old school players who had been waiting for serious upgrades.
i kind of hate to see most dungeons are empty of players and not getting enough helps to handle mobs and over the top bosses that not meant to be solo'ed in certain places for designed level range meant for right type of challenges.
you do need other players or 2nd teams to do those levers in other rooms, but you cant as we are losing players that are quiting over many months.
let work together for ideas to revive this old game into something new, once we built this and others will come....
reason i come back, this was my first MMO game on AC, i wasnt happy with many bugs in AC2, it took team to sort out for 2-3 years before it got better, the timings isnt right and AC2 wasnt ready, and Legions was way better but too late to keep it running, because too many folks still think it isnt done enough and not ready, and CEO made a hasty choice to pull and did make-overs to get ready for LotRO.
AC2 just need to rebuilt from scratch with fresh new level.
i can understand about fragmenting the player base, AC is very unique and no other games came close, no elves or hobbits in AC settings.
i played other games after they pulled AC2 out, played Horizons (love those playable flying dragons), DDO and LotRO both failed to satisfied me, Guild Wars (limited gameplays) get old fast and pure grindfest if wanting elite armors, Eq2 wasnt that too bad until they made too raidfest when it meant as questings.
so, just celebrate this 9th anniverssary together and try to keep game running for 10th year :) and make new ideas that acceptable for dev teams.

I like the idea of lore vaults being ingame but they should serve a purpose like an expansion being released where the magic apocalypse happened (in ac1) and then we came bak up to the surface. iunno just throwing out ideas while waiting for servers.

Its not feasible to update AC to AC2's graphic engine. Also, not sure why this is in the live events boards. Frelorn or someone should move it to the general or lore board.
I do like the idea of quests who's main purpose is lore. But, if turbine wishes to continue the AC2 story, we are many years off from things like building vaults or having the cataclysm happen. If they do decide to add some sort of lore vault quest series, it should be completely independent of anything in AC2.
I would like to point out that there is a great deal of lore regarding many of the creatures we fight. There are several very old stories about most of the main creatures. You can find some of them here (http://asheron.info/~asheron/index.php?title=Zone_%26_Turbine_Articles). Also, when ACDM came out we learned a lot about the tumeroks. During the Burun arc, we got tons of lore regarding the burun and their homeworld.
And last, "Vaimontians are recent discovery for Isparians/Derethians." This is not true. Viamontians are Isparians. Viamont is a neighboring country of Aluvia. Viamontians, and several other Isparian heritages, have always existed in the lore:
Asheron.info - history of Ispar (http://asheron.info/~asheron/index.php?title=History_of_Ispar) (incomplete)
CoD - History & Lore (http://ac.warcry.com/content/lore/) (includes section on Ispar)

Hmm, i would have re-worded for Viamontiants, but i meant for those others didnt know until the wall was down for vaimont to invade.
that what i meant, pre-events that not related with AC2.
vaults seem pretty important, and somehow those ac2's vault's shards were altered by Garraine the undead emperior while the survivors in the shelters.
so, the shard room would told us something else.
we still have other missing isparians, Silverians(pale skin, white/blue haired/blonds), Milantos(crimson skins, ranged red, blonds, raven hairs), Rouleans, and Shou-vey.
i didnt ask for graphic upgrades, that is totally another game engine to worry about.
only something workable in current version to add vaults and lore, and new mixture of armors that not on loot table. we have enough of those in loot table, but wondering about new form of "crafting" new set of armors beside tinkerings.
dont know if adding new skills are doable for new archtype class with free-form customized skill selection menu.
we still have those "brown bags" from salvage that not useable yet, are these reserved for remaining isparians that yet to be on derethians? or holding for new skills?
these abandoned living quarters is ideal lore as "shelters".
anyway, i am watching those "altered" mattekars story arc that got abandoned, and Frelorn didnt have time to keep the story flow when he took over.
wondering what the fate of Balor, was altered to Gurogs? that is huge story line to get create for 10th year anniversary.
lot of mattekars went missing and they are few to find and hunt.
sorry if i wasnt on up to date, all i hear about Jester and graveyard while i was inactive for almost 2 years, contents and patches had been weak for months.
so, it just my opinion to get story line get going and interesting, because 10th year would be major event when many older players might want to get back on time to celebrate in late 2009.
how old is that young prince, i assume he might be closer to his 16th birthday, and it just matter of time and how soon Elysia will meet her fate.

I'm hoping they won't let the Balor story fade away like so many other threads in the story. He was captured years ago, and last year we found out aerbax had altered him and given him to the undead. and then it just dropped.
I think Borelean is 19. He was conceived prior to PY 0, born in PY 0. And I believe that November 99 = Leafcull PY 10, and the current date is the 4th of Leafcull PY 19.
