Howdy!

I decided to try this game after many years of not playing. Signed up for the free trial, and patched with no problems. The problem starts after I select a character to play.

I get the borders, but the middle of the screen (where you see everything that's happening) is black. The connection status symbol stays green, then turns yellow and then red and then I get a message saying that my connection has been lost.

I initially had Zone Alarm (the free version) running, and turned it off (running without any firewalls) and the game still didn't want to load. I uninstalled Zone Alarm and installed the CA Security Center suite (that I found out I get with my internet service) and it's still doing the same thing. Any suggestions on how to get the game loaded?

Have to open your ports.

Can find them at portforward.com

Hi everyone. Ol skooler here. I played AC back in 2000 - 2002. I decided to give it a try again. I am having the same problem as above. I log-in and portal in but stay purple and glowing and can't move. connection chain shows green and then after about a minute it starts flashing yellow and red and then I get the disconnected message. I followed the forward port instructions except when I try to open the ports I get an error. I try to save changes and it tells me that No.1 is invalid or incorrect. On the private ip address what am I suppose to put in the blank? I tried the default which is "1" but I still get the error popup. I would love to be able to fix this quickly...today. Thank you.

make sure any and all download programs such as Limewire are off.... i have noticed since 100th patch, my lag outs have gotten more tediously influenced by the smallest increase in ping... although normal latency has gotten better since they moved server locations, you cannot do multiple things while playing AC....

I'm having the same problem. No matter which server I'm on. Any fixes?
