I am using a new laptop to place AC:TD. It is ...

Intel Core2 Duo CPU T6400 @ 2.00GHz
4 GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT
Vista Service Pack 1
Wireless Internet/Wireless Router
Wireless Mouse and Keyboard (Logitech)

Example System
-----------------------

The video performance is much less than I anticipated it would be. It seems to run ok for a while, then gets slower and choppier and slower and choppier until it looks like I'm running AC on a Pentium/133. In fact I think AC ran BETTER on a Pentium/133 10 years ago, I'm not sure, I don't remember.

Restarting the client helps some, but AC should be running much better than this. I have tried reducing all the settings to adjustable minimums, closing applets, reducing screen size, nothing seems to help. Any suggestions to improve how the game plays would be very helpful

Thanks

10 years ago the graphics weren't as much an issue.

IF you are running decal and some visual intense apps then yes as time flys the performace will take a hit as memory is leeched by the apps/decal.

can occassioally quit to the desktop and let the graphics not in use any longer poloygons be cleared from video memory (which are notorious for not being cleared when no longer needed, sucking up memory and more memory till things crawl).

Hey, I don't know but, I would suggest getting off wireless and hook your laptop up to the base router. When i'm in a motel off working or just on a Vacation, I can't play on Wireless it's not that stable of a connection, even sitting on top of the wirless router the motel's have.

This is what i play on.
Window's Vista Home Basic Service Pack 1
Dell Processor Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU T2330 @ 1.60GHz, 1600 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s) 2GB Ram Total Virtual Memory 4.21 GB

Graphic's - Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family (Internal) 512 MB Graphic Memory and 256MB System Video Memory.

Dial up internet that connects at 28.8kbs

There is a few quest that are a bit laggy but never nothing I can't stand. I think forts are the worst, for the lag part. I tend to run 350 Ping and 500ish with ACDC going.
