Day 3 Since Patch and Still Can't Play!!!!!!!

Ok Day 3 is here and still no response from Turbine about my problem.

I GET THE CONNECT VIAL BUT IT NEVER UPDATES AND SAYS AFTER ABOUT 30 SECONDS SERVER CONNECTION LOST EVERYTIME!!!!!.

Before the Patch my connection was just fine so unless it's a very big coincidence ( which i doubt ) , there is still an issue somewhere which lies solely with Turbine !.

Come on Turbine help me in this as you are now charging me $12.95 to not play at all ?????.

Nope Changed Port settings in the AC settings and still nothing.

screaming and acting like a jerk doesnt get an awnser faster and prolly will even stop some people from helping.

seeing how this isnt an issue for a lot of people the chance is much higher there is a problem at your side.

Yes thorn i did install the gaming zone files again and the AC files also , but nothing seems to work even changing the port setting hasnt helped.

Ok someone explain this ........... if i was ok with connections right after the patch and i actually played for some good few hours before logging out , then when i tried to reenter the world at a later date i find i cannot.

Now it seems very odd to me while i cannot have access all of a sudden due to a internet firewall of some kind ( i actually spoke with my isp and they said it shouldnt be a problem as regards playing AC , if it were a firewall i wouldnt be able to get access period and i have done.

All i get is Connect Vial Blue and Update Vial does not start at all and after 20-30 seconds it always says server connection lost ! , so i am assuming Turbine is not somehow allowing me acces for some reason ?.

This has been going on 3 days solid now.

so i am assuming Turbine is not somehow allowing me acces for some reason i never heard about turbine / microsoft blocking ips or such from there servers. when you are banned you get a message after you connect. your problem is something i heard about before and often is connected the local connection problems.

you said in your ealier posts that both your wife and you played, you both have the same problem of different computers?

you mention a firewall, have you one installed or did your isp change settings that you know of?

and further, how do you connect to the internet? do you use a router, switch or something like that?

Yes BoneYard i have a Wireless connection right now and yes we have a router also.

Do you think i should try the one computer without the router ?.

I think i will get the same problem though , ok about to try right now

Nope isnt a router problem as same problem happens without the router connected.

This sound really curious ... Don't understand as I never got this problem myself sorry... You've to wait for an Turbine's answer, but isn't there a ticket service ? I thing there's one through the FAQ link I gave you up there.

Just copying some links from previous posts when there was a rash of connectivity problems. I remembered all heck broke loose here on the forum when a major broadband provider began blocking UDP ports just a month or two ago.

These links were suggested to check and see if an internet service provider is blocking UDP.

If you have tried clearing zone files (cookies, internet temp files, offline content), make sure you got all of them, including the class object in IE.

Log out of Passport on any open windows - that includes Hotmail. Note: If you use MSN as an internet provider, you really cant totally log out of Passport I believe, but make sure you dont have any open IE windows logged into a Passport.

Open a new window of IE > Tools > Internet Options

Under Temporary Internet Files click the button that reads Settings....

Click the button that reads View Objects...

Select (highlight) HeartbeatCtl Class right click and select Remove from the context menu.

When you return to play AC on the zone you will redownload and install the Class control unless you are using Anti-Spyware or a Pop-up blocker that blocks it.

To redownload the zone game files and that control obj, browse in the open window to

If you are using the AC client, not the ACDM client, you may have a different link to follow - this one works for ACDM and the new client, dunno about the old or demo versions of AC.

Choose Play - Instead of signing into Passport through the Sign In icon on the upper right, select the world you wish to login to and follow the resulting login prompts. For some reason, I have had the Sign In icon cause issues with accessing AC in the past, particularly in downloading the AC Zone files.

Once you are done redownloading the Zone Files for AC you will see the Spade screen with a link that reads Take me back to my game click on that and the AC client will begin to launch with 3dSetup.

If you use something like Dual Login normally - don't do it for this first time to ensure you download all the zone files properly.

If it still does it, the only other thing I can dream of trying is renaming the portal and cell .dat files in the AC directory and relogging in.

Sky everyone seems to think it is our prblem but i'm pretty sure it's aeither a turbine problem or an internet problem somewhere.

curious thing of all though is that we both can connect before we get server connection lost everytime!.

PS:Still can't get in to play ( same problem ).

i have a similar problem, i cant log into one of my accounts on my friends computer. he runs just AOL and AC. I can log into it on my computer just fine but I dont use AOL. when he trys to log in he gets booted right back out or every so often he gets some message saying that he is using some kind of speed software and then gets booted out. we tried so many times that my 2nd account is now banned from Mornigthaw. wtf is the problem with Ac lately. i guess they dont want anyone playing anymore, maybe time for something new

I tried Removing HeartbeatCtl from my zone files , but this did not correct my issue, i need further advise anyone out there know of anything that might help ?.

Also it would be interesting to know what setup you have to connect to the internet plus company and location your at. yeah it would most likely be useful to see what skyclymr has for setup and isp. if other people have this exact problem, be sure to post that info. it wouldnt be the first time some isp is doing weird things.

as for saying that more and more people have the problem i dont see that on this thread yet (although another lists some more people), donkey punch clearly has a different problem as he is able to connect fine but the speedhack / gear dection kicks in for some reason
