Running out of stamina (zero) gives the person the ability to not only 360jump and slide faster then the people chasing them but also breaks sticky AND locks up any melees and gives zero chance of a mage to land war spells or archers landing arrows since the server doesnt know where the character is.
I know the devs were spending so much time on making debuffable weepings that this hasnt been addressed and is probably yet another game breaking bug that gets me and others (who liek fair pvp without sploits) to quit AGAIN.
We are always investigating solutions to the issue, but finding a good one that doesn't make things worse as opposed to making them better has proven to be very difficult.

Ivanhoe, these guys never plan on fixing this..., I've brought this up several times and it's been around forever, I've just given up on AC and am playing PlanetSide till Darkfall comes out. Maybe someday these guys will finally listen to their customer base and fix it or maybe enough people will just get fed up with their lack of concern and leave and put them out of business.

Until they find a good fix, I am cool with jump spin. You lose stamina now. What more do you want? Want us to lose 100-200 hp and mana too?

The sad thing is this..
Lets just say they do fix this one..
It's only a matter of time ( probably like hours ) before another cheat/exploit surfaces.
Then the dev's will be flooded with requests to fix that one. Then they finaly get to fix this one.. then another surfaces...
Get the picture?
Would it not be nice if the dev's could use that time creating more stuff for PvP in a positive light? Better content for everyone. Better weapons/items for PvP people to enjoy?
Kinda sad knowing that PvP is only as good as the next expliot/cheat..
Well now that Turbine doesn't have the contract limit on devs anymore with MS out of the picture, they can probably expand the developer team to fix exploits like this faster. Maybe?

As paying customers we are not concerned with excuses, especially when they span the period of years, just fix the problem or we will take our business elsewhere!
I work in software development and if I came up with as many excuses and didn't fix my problems in about 1/10th the time it takes you guys I would've been out of a job long ago!

you have to be able to get away somehow, otherwise the game will become a skilless game like most other MMO's (IMO)
I am curious what kind of ideas they have, but it is best that they don't change it how it is right now until a very good fix is implemented

Yes their is always going to be some kind of exploits in online games
The best part about mmo games is the ability the devs have to fix these cheats/exploits when (we the mass testers/players) find/discover them.
However being informed is the most important thing to me
And if we hear nothing at all it only seems as nothing is being looked at or done about it. (we still have fast casting guess devs wont be fixing that)
I dont expect any fixes are ever "Easy" . bugs/sploits take away time from other parts of the game . hire a few new people if you have to. whatever it takes to not turn this into another 6-9month fix.
From Ibn's post it appears they are working on it.
But the post ends with the now common reply "difficult"
This to me has come to mean "its gonna take a lot of time and resources to get fixed/addressed"
That doesnt sit to well with me.
And this is probably why we dont get any info on whats going on
If we all knew its gonna take 6 months to even attempt a fix on certain bugs/sploits/etc then I would quit for 6 months (ive done it before without a problem)
So this could be the reason why the players are always left in the dark on these issues.
A way to keep me in the game (paying monthly) is to have a test server where players can test out any fixes
That can be updated and changed fast and easy
when you have 1k people playing/testing out somthing 24/7 they tend to find flaws/bugs/sploits more then 5 people behind a desk looking at code all day.
Then it goes back to US the players being the ones who are testing the game for the devs. Something we shouldnt have to do in the first place But if its for the betterment of the game then im for it On a TEST server. NOT a main server like we got with debuffable weepings this month .

smaweet,
You can get away from melees by doing spinjumps This takes up stamina. You drink a potion and continue to run away
You probably have a good 90% chance of always being able to get away (recall with 10 sec timer) unless u get hit with full debuffs then probably only a 50% chance to still get away from a GANK of melee's.
This is not the sploit im talking about
It involves the ability to slide/run faster/be invulnerable to all attacks with NO stamina thats ZERO stamina
And to continue to do this forever.
Its pretty much what the old godmode was. The server never had a clue to where the char was. So anyone attacking the person would miss with war/arrows and melees couldnt stick do to unlimited mini jumps involved.
The only attack was drains/harms that would land on people.

In this particular case a better interpretation would be "We have spent a great deal of time and resources on this issue already, and will continue to do so until we find a good solution."
I will be honest with you, we have designed and implemented multiple "fixes" internally but none have yet solved the problem in a satisfactory way -- that is, solved it, not caused more problems, and not done unintended things to PvP balance.
We will keep working on this until we do have a fix that works the way we want it to.

Thanks for the info IBN.
Its good to hear that it has at least been getting worked on.
PvP is to me The only reason i continue to play ac
(dt only since retail)
And it has seemed for a long while now that DT/PvP issue/answers are so hard to get out of the dev team.
With some pvp (red) on non pvp servers
And with the very popular PKL system I was hoping with now an even bigger PvP player base that we could begin to have better communications between the devs and PvP related issues.
I do thank you for your replies in regards to the issue.
By the way.
That 5 sec jump timer (that we had awhile back)
during combat might be a nice little bandaid till a full fix is found.

From my understanding, this problem is about 360 jumps with 0 stamina, correct? Maybe it is just cause im naive, but couldn't the devs just take out jumping altogether when you have 0 Stamina. I mean its realistic (You cannot jump if you are tired) and beneficial. I also do not see how it could unbalance anything. Please tell me if there is anything wrong with this idea.

That sounds like a partial fix.
But ya that would work
And/or the old jump timer.

The issue is that you do not actually lose stamina if you are going to be spin jumping people a lot. Either you use your mad skill and press ~ when you let off the space bar, which means you are the god of PvP since it is so hard, or you just god mode some elixirs and do it again, or just recall.
Forget the recalling part, it's the god moding elixirs that ruins it. Like they want their stamina to run away or recall when they still had some left after the jump? Yeah right, they're going to god mode their stamina and health back, and then turn around and jump in your face while you are after them.
It's strange how the real point is always missed. There's nothing wrong with people getting away. That's their choice, and you can't choose for people to just die because they no longer want to fight. But when they basically have lost repeatedly and just keep coming back, that is just plain horribly wrong on every level.

exactly.
or when 10 lvl 126+++ people are killing 1 player and he isnt attempting ot fight rather go back and forth just staying alive due to this bs jumping bugs u know something is seriously wrong.

Ivanhoe, that is exactly what I am talking about. I can't say how many times I've seen one person being chased by more or less, a full fellow of guys, and they just keep refilling their health, with no chance to die, but manage to get off attacks and eventually pick someone off, probably after they catch a melee off guard from a spin jump.

its back to old godmode days only a matter of time before its back rampant again. Theres some that can exploit perfectly and others who mess up and die.
It isnt fun to not be able to kill someone due to bugs in the game.

Its just as bad as gear heads literally dancing around you and mocking you.

The day jumpspin/effing up animations is "fixed" is the day you lose your playerbase that's actually worth (something).

witch,
im betting that more people want competitive pvp over exploited Pvp to gain an advantage over the non exploited.
Any person who likes to PvP on a level playing field wouldnt leave WHEN the devs finally get around to fixing these exploits.
