Land Control False hope for pvp purpose?

My hope was smoten yet again.

It looks like this expansion of land control is going to be NPK based.

Lack of pk content.

If they make it good for pvp... I'll be surprised...
Don't get your hopes up... like I did.

I went from Ecstatic to disappointed within 30 minutes.

it was a DT idea and now that the O.os heard about it. they are all crying that they shouldnt have to PK to get the benefit.

Talk about rubbing it in the pvp player base's face.

It's things like this that cause anger between the NPK's and the PVP players. They always screw up our content because they whine... I'm almost at an end with ac... if It wasn't for the kickass allegiance I'm in. I'd be gone.

Wtf?!? Where did you see this? I was planning on trying the game out again from scratch when the expansion was released! Then all that newb stuff they work on so much would have been worth it.

I wondered about such a PK oriented thing myself, but then I thought, hey, everyone has PKL now and there isn't much purpose to it! Man, what is going on?

My allegiance was the only thing that kept me around, but then ALL my friends quit. The community is dwindling, and that is what is affecting the game the most :(

This 6 minute post timer that limits ideas isn't helping, either... gd why is it 6 freaking minutes long? I've never seen one so high and they never even tried anything above 30 seconds. I'll bet I eat up bandwidth clicking submit reply so much.

This new land control thing. Which is now almost blatantly for NPK use. Is part of the expansion pack. And a tidbit of landcontrol was put in in.

you'll see ibn stating over and over that you DON'T need to be pk to do it. meaning... they are going to be done by quests of sorts.

What an awesome way to kill the idea, even after PKL was introduced for everyone to be instantaneous with no drawbacks. And now people are even complaining PKL doesn't have enough purpose. Man, that's pretty sad for AC...

I'd even be satisfied with something stupid, like whoever has more clan members press a switch "controls" the area, haha, or maybe a simple king of the hill type thing.

I have a feeling if anyone loses out it will be the PK/PKLs on white worlds, theres a large chance that whatever the dynamic DT will still benefit in a PvP style manner.

Theres only so many ways a non-pk can hold an area, so lets assume it has to do with killing monsters/staying in an area for an amount of time, or something like that. On DT, just because the aim isn't to kill people, doesn't mean another guild cant raid them and kill them off and complete the quest dynamic themselves.

Very true Shon_Tsu. Even a certain guild population in a landblock controlling that area would work to make PvP an effective tool in controlling an area. I just hope newbs don't kill each other to become white and then go in and "claim an area" in 5 minutes...

Wow, one chance to truly revive PVP in AC (one of AC's strongest points) and it's ruined.

Pathetic. I'm really sick of these little Everquest born o.0s that don't understand why AC is a good game. Every other game, including the high profile ones like world of warcraft, can't match AC, and yet people still say things like "well other games are this, and mages are weak in this game, and blah blah blah". It's really getting old, and it will be a sad day when AC is so restrictive and boring from it's original concept that playing something like WoW would be more agreeable.

This is just showing us that turbine doesn't have a vision for Darktide. "We are just puppets that pay our money and they say thanks, but you don't deserve any content for it."

I pay my 12.99$/month * 2 accounts + 2 friends I brought in.... I want my content thank you very much... What I don't want is NPK's thinking they deserve more. We all pay the same amount of money to play this game...

My problem is like what Kurak's first line reads.

The current concept of taking territory, even IF it actually directly helps PvP, already does not work how it should. I don't know how it will work exactly, but you can see it is not really PvP oriented just because it is stressed that you are not required to be PK to participate.

Why can't the functionality atleast exist in SOME way to directly take a place through PvP?

Once again, it's something that has the potential to be awesome, gets all sized up, and in reality is just an afterthought.

GUYS, he said you don't need to be PK to BENEFIT from it. Which probably means, if your guild has some 1337 pvpers in it, and they take over the area, you'll be able to benefit (although hopefully not as much) as the PKs in your guild.

The whole idea is that you take actual control of something through PvP.

It really isn't a terribly difficult concept, and if there were just a few things that you could do this with, like say, the 3 capital towns or something, it would be great.

That amount of stuff would be just fine for even NPK servers because they can all go PKL and join in as well, which many people would.

This is not like that, whatever it actually is, just from the responses.
