Duplicate CD Keys

Hello all.

I have recently paid for, and downloaded *two* copies
of ACDM from Fileplanet. The problem is that Fileplanet
sent me two confirmation emails, both with the same
CD key. Obviously, this is a problem. I sent an email
to Fileplanet customer support but haven't heard back.
I doubt they realize the importance of having unique
CD keys for subscription purposes. So, is there another
way to get a CD key so I can get multiple new accounts?

Ok, I got a response from fileplanet. It seems that
the CDkey is generated from your Gamespy ID and
email address, so if you're going to purchase multiple
copies, you first have to register multiple Gamespy IDs,
each with a different email address. I'm sure Turbine
would want everyone to know this (hint hint Moderators).

Indeed an so is the fact [according to email replies] my roommate has recieved ..

One day last month he went to log in on his 3+yr main account, they said it wasnt an Active account...???

Long story short they had not billed his credit card [still active an in good funds] and they told him this happens on & off... funny I had never heard about this on any of the boards ..well at least not in my 3+yrs... hummm

Now they wanted his CD ID # ... well box, book, map, and CD was there but not the jewel case for his first account...{lost we guess during a move 3yrs ago...

They told him to use his other CD ID # .. well that would have only got him back to his second account which had no problem

Then a suggestion about using one of his 2 Dark Majesty ID #s well that sounded more fesible...

When he went to prosess this he discovered that he never had to reenter any ID #s an after a month + of Emails logged on to his orginal account, and everything seem fine...

Why such a headach over all this... should have been a simple task for someone that had play & paid for so long....

just ran into this problem, i wish i had read this thread beforehand. guess i gotta wait 2 days to hear anything from gamespy. once you got the problem figured out, did they give you a new cd-key or did they refund one of your cd-key purchases?

I just ran into this problem as well except the second account I tried to buy was a gift for a friend who they sent MY cd key to. Now he can not play the game at all and he has a copy of my cd key for my account and knows my email addy. Pretty bad news.

Should be a huge warning posted on the download page informing people that they may only purchase one account per game spy account.

Another problem I ran into was creating game spy accounts to buy different working copies of ACDM. Problem is that Game Spy only allows you to make three accounts per credit card. After that they decline the card. So.......I guess that means you cant buy the game as gift for someone and your limited to one game per account and can only use one credit card for every three copies of the game. Man, why do they need to make this so complicated. And I am super pissed off about the security breach to my account.

Still no word from Game Spy/File Planet. No word from Ibn or the other two Turbine employee's I pm'd on the vault. Still no reply from Zbilling. And no formal responses to any of the three threads about this.

Wish I read your post sooner...

So,my wife and I decide. "it's a sunday. chores done,it's chilly out.. lets find a new mmorpg to play". And we rediscover asherons...

*fade to black*

Scene II:

We purchase Asherons II via fileplanet to test it. Play for a few mins and figure what the hell. Let's get 2 accounts and play together.

After successfully downloading it for the 2nd freeking time (too big to burn to CD and no DVD's left to burn to) we check our email for the 2nd key...lo and be-freekin hold it's the same mother ****'in key.

And so our sherade began.


Calling them direct tommorow. I do credit collections for a living. I'm not letting this go until rectified or acredited.

I'll let you all know how it goes. I've collected from Government before, no way in hell i'm letting this beat me.
