I recently read about the new expansion being greenlighted. I am a very old player who has played off and on since release. Sadly i did not get in DT at release.Yet over the years i came to find PvP gameplay VERY rewarding and fun.
When i had found this out DT had become very difficult to start in, although very possible as it still is today. Yet i just couldnt see putting in all the time to never get any closer to the top. So i continued about my hows it said now? MY o.O career and eventually felt the staleness. I moved around to other games yet always kept my eye on AC, praying for a new Perma PK server to open.
When i read about the new expansion it got my hopes up that perhps i might get to see some PvP action on a regular server. Though this is still yet to be seen, i noticed soemthing as i was reading over the boards. I feel like im in UO and although somehow the crying people are creating a proverbial trammel even though they are on a completly seperate server, its frightening. I have seen many communities over mt trials of other games like this.
The only time i did not feel this was on Shadowbane, but for a No PK person to be there would be ludicris.
I have to tell you guys i feel your pain and anguish, i have felt it even though i do not play. Many times i see people throwing PVP out and obviouslt they have never experienced it, which is sad frankly, i feel bad for these people. I don't know what happened to then in a past life, i guess its the few idiots out there that ruined it for them.
Any how the point is that i think TE should throw away this idea of identical servers for PVE and PVP and have a seperate DT team, also they need to stop this whole catch 22 with the need to see the DT server size grow. I can't believe they are so oblivious to the fact that people don't play there because everyone is so high level already.
I really hope they release more info on the expansion soon so i can makea decision on wether or not to come play again. And i hope its involves some form of PvP. They need to understand that they started this game with DT , and its bad business to just let the player base there get pissed and quit. It may be smaller portion of the subscriber base than the reg servers but its still a very large hit in finances, especially after AC2. They need money for their new projects, and its basically coming from AC1.
