View Full Version : Bag of Salvage with 0 contents

I was in Trade bot mode and I accepted 11 bags of salvage for my 200 plats.

3 of the bags (3 steel) were good and 8 of the bags (4 steel, 3 granite, 1 mahog) reverted to 0 contents when they went into my pack.

Very strange. Has anybody else ever seen this?

I gave the bags to an alt toon and could not trade them to my bot with 0 contents. So the person trading them to me had to have full bags. But when it went into my pack they reverted to 0 contents.

I tried restarting multiple times and transferred the salvage to different toons. I tried tinkering with them -- no go. I can't even salvage these bags, as they are not recognized as salvage. Nothing worked.

I asked for urgent assistance, but the +Envoy said it was a Trade bot problem and that I should contact the bot author.

Is this possible? Can Decal change the data of an item stored on the server?

I guess I have 8 novelty items, that I can look at, but do nothing with.

Any ideas on how this happened or how to fix it?

Thanks,
Xerxes

If Decal can change data of an item then there should be a plugin that keeps refilling the mana bank on a mana-charged item. Considering the amount of complaining done about Decal all over the forums, I think something like that would have drawn some attention.

Potentially the Envoy misunderstood the situation. If a bag of 0 units of salvage were an item that could be generated by a low tinkering skill and the trade bot software incorrectly identified it as 100 (full), then it would indeed be a decal or bot software issue.

I agree that the fact is the objects should not even exist. To generate a bag of salvage in-game, you should have to have at least one unit of salvage, I would think. The fact that these bags had their units (for want of a better term) removed indicates either a problem with the trade code or the salvage code and possibly hints of duping. All of which should raise some alarm at Turbine.
