Disable Alt F4. Force PKs who want to log to do it using the log out controls and a timer.

I use alt f4 all the time and would hate that change

Do pks who use it stay ingame until the logout duration is up?

No sir, they disappear instantly. The logout timer is server side I believe, which leads to some flaky behavior. Some of that is good, because you can sometimes portal out of a gankfest, but the number of people who use Alt-F4 to instantly leave the game to avoid a fight is huge.

I did some testing on this locally... if you alt-f4 before the PK timer kicks in (that is, no one's landed a spell on you or anything) you disappear just like if you exited the game.

But if you are under the PK timer and you alt-f4, your character stands around until the timer runs out. I alt-f4'd one char and had the second char kill him after the first client had already exited.

Like I said, this is how it works under the test conditions I've got, if you have more info on how to get around the timer please PM me.

Ya, if you're "tagged" and you alt-f4, you're gonna die. I think the real problem is people that effectively portal log by using this technique. They portal into a big group and *poof* they're gone.

I'd say blame detection plugins.

You could do this long before Decal even existed. Just hit the / key as you're portaling in and look for someone's name in the lower, right corner of your screen. If you see someone, hit shift-esc.

ya the problem is....you hit a guy, he runs until the timer is off then hits alt f4 and dissappears....vs, stopping putting hands up in air and logging!.....This is such a simple fix here...you added a pk timer because of the plogging....go ahead and take another step in the right direction! Its ok..! Get rid of it!
