I appreciate it. However Im very dissapointed its taking so long.
I fought a mage last night and I flat out could not physically hit him. I tried everything and with maxed out spec bow plus majors I did not hit him once, even at point blank range. I wish I would have saved the log.
Granted its not usually that bad I normally only miss against a decent mage without missle maybe 75% of the time but last nights incident really struck home.
Please get it fixed its very frustrating.

yup .
they should of did things soon as they put in streaks .
trying to fight a mage as an archer is a complete joke.
a aegis thing needs to come .
there making arrow head have a bigger hit radious is much needed as well.
its not like these are new archery problems.
Before streaks and right after what the AR patch?
archers were pretty well balanced. then came uber armor and streaks shooting fast and moving and a archer cant hit a target from 1 inch away from simple ZC movements and little bunny hops.
They JUST announced trying to fix this long ongoing major imbalance,
they waited so long. and the fixes are still not ingame.
glad i quit before i had to start paying more money for less game
Actualy it should have been delt with before, or at least at the same time, as when Arc's were put in game.
To this day I still don't understand why mages, who were the best template at the time, were given something that made it eiser for them to get a kill. This while melee's were dieing and archers were non-existant.
When they announced the upcomming changes I knew that we were looking at June at best and more likely August as the time when they would go in game. So far my expectations are right on track.
Edit: I have to add that the delay is a real bummer. Most people who stuck it out with archery all this time have finnaly abandoned it or quit AC. The majority of people that will see the changes will be the flavor of the month people who will jump over to archer after it gets fixed.

Sito,
But imagine the sweet taste of mage flesh once those of us who have stuck it out are able to *gasp* do damage=p
yep i made the big mistake of makeing an xbower on darktide and the only thing stopping me from dropping it for sword is the 3 months or so it would take me to make a decent melee as i would have to drop alchemy/fletching/ spec xbow to trained and then trained to finally getting rid of it while training sword into specialised.
another alternative is to wait until turbine fixes our problems but how long will that take i wonder and i am not bothering to try and pk i just hide in the woods and hunt critters lol otherwise im just handing out free di's to melees or should i just say sword users because everyone that isnt a mage is a sword :)

the only situation that increasing the size of the projectile helps is if the change in diameter between new and old projectile is greater than the amount you missed your target by. They were talking about doubling the size of arrows and while this doubles the diameter as well it is the change in size IG is the equivalent of a couple inches IRL. Arrows usually miss by alot more than that due to the poorly thought up aiming mechanism.
Most FPS games have cheats aimbot programs that people have made to cheat in them that can lead their target and hit almost every shot. This can't be done in AC? At the very least arrows need to have their speed increased drastically. From what I understand that means increasing their range, I see no problem with that since 80 yards, which is their current range is a fraction of the range bows that were used in ancient armies had. I don't see how it would mess up any IG balances since you would have trouble targeting something off radar and would get a huge penalty from range to your bow skill.
They should then do away with the present aiming system and have the arrow fire right at the person. It would be difficult to avoid but possible this way. What also long overdue to change is archers being locked into the ground when they fire. Because of this I can get one or two shots off at someone before they get away if they are running, so it is easy for a person, if they actually get low on health, to run and then heal without worry before starting to fight me again on my archer. My archer has 345 buffed quickness, allow him to use this somewhat please.
Many ancient armies had archers mounted on horses and were sometimes used to keep thier enemies at range while raining arrows on them. But in AC for some reason you can't move at all while firing a bow, but can while casting spells and attacking with melee. Before American Indian youthes were accepted as braves they had to be able to have a third arrow in the air before the first struck its target.
The aiming mechanism needs to change also, but it needs to be a significant change. Under the current system you have to have 3 times as much bow skill as an archer does who is designed for that level of content to hit something at max speed. This means that maxed out archers can use max speed only ultra low content that they have no reason of ever killing anyway. I think that the penalty/bonus should be halved to 25% in each direction. However if it is easier to keep the top end at 150% and not change missile defense of mobs you can set it at 150%, midpoint of the bar at 120% and max speed at 90%. This would hurt missile defense characters in pvp however, if there are still any that have it, which I would question why they have it with the total lack of archers on DT. A possible fix to that would be to change missile d from /5 to /4 or /whatever you want, to give a 20% skill bonus to match the change missile attacks got on the low end, or to simply allow defender to work on missile and melee d mods.
Since any let alone all of that would probably take you guys some time, you need to increase the damage that weeping bows do, considerably. Right now they are just sligthly better than 166 mod AR bows vs unshielded opponents. This while a weeping sword kicks the whatever out of a x10 tinkered AR sword with the right granite and iron applied. To fix this the weeping bow needs to be at least 130 mod when equiped and the human slayer property needs to be increased to match the one that melee weapons have but based on 360 skill cap, not 400.
Think about it, against unshielded opponents archers are the same as they were before weepings were introduced. Why did archers not get a benefit besides the shield hollow one? The shield hollow one is a benefit, but it is one that 100% needed to be done, unless it was anyone's belief that melee's should be effectively immune to archers. Its not like archers were overpowered back then either, mages still owned them, but mages got a damage increase while archers did not. The change made 0 sense and showed beyond a doubt that not one Turbine employee plays an archer, otherwise they would have raised holy you know what. You already make archers jump through hoops by having to have a seperate character to make the oils required to make deadly arrows and then to actually spend the time to making arrows. If you don't have a seperate character that does the alchemy part you are talking about bow being a 26 credit skill to spec which is almost what war is. War however does more damage with streaks, when using a weeping wand than weeping bow does with each arrow vs your average opponent.
That is all for now, I am just disgusted with the way this has been ignored and for an extremely long time. Every single archer that I know(which doesn't include me of course) has either quit AC or changed their archer to a melee or mage. Every single one, 100%, talk about ownage, wtg guys.
Amen? :(
I'd post more but fter 2 years I think I have said everything that can be said. Eccept mabe to point at Iza and say.... there ya go.
