View Full Version : Quick help..
Okay, a few patches ago you said that all players using just the normal "Asheron's Call" game could now use the "Dark Majesty" expansion without buying it. I have the DM installed on my other computer; I just got this computer but it doesn't have AC installed. I downloaded AC from a friend but it's NOT Dark Majesty. When I try to play DM OR normal AC it says I have no subscription.
If you say people can play use DM if they don't have it, then how do I fix this? The other computer is down at the moment and I need back into the game A.S.A.P., help please!
Thanks,
Aadi
By the way, I do have a subscriptio to Dark Majesty. Sorry, I forgot to mention that.

ahhhh thats the problem
basically if you have a DM subscription you have to have Dm installed on your comp.
basically basic accounts have had the Dm content unlocked ... they still enter through the basic lobby.
Your pooched.
for example: I have two accounts one normal and one DM I CANNOT enter my Dm account through the basic lobby nor can I enter my basic account though the dm lobby all though both have access to the same content.

Bear with me, I don't know where the problem lies for you.
No matter what CD or download you use to install AC, you can use it for either AC or ACDM type accounts. The ONLY difference will be the quicklaunch. AC quicklaunch takes you to an AC portal and the ACDM quicklaunch takes you to the ACDM portal. If you use the website http://classic.zone.msn.com/asheronscall/default.asp
instead you can, of course, choose your portal.
If you have tried both portals and they both tell you you don't have a subscription, perhaps your subscription HAS expired and not been renewed.
Log into account, go to the website and click on Subscriptions on the left. Pick the proper game from the drop down and check it out.
There is a VERY dim possibility that your account has gotten dissassociated from your Passport, that would be an MS billing issue.
It's also possible you are not logged into an account-bearing Passport, if you have ANY auto-login features running.

No. There is absolutely no difference between AC and AC:DM installs. It's only a billing issue.
Back to the original problem. I'm not sure what you are trying to say. From what I've gathered you've got one subscription and aren't logging into that subscription while trying to play the game.
What you used to install AC doesn't matter, the only thing that matters are the accounts. All accounts were flagged for DM content. Intalling someone elses AC or DM disk doesn't do anything for you without making an account via a CD key.

If you have a AC origional account you have to install AC original software .
If you have a DM account you must use DM software.
If you have an Original AC account - once you get into the game you can access all content that used to be closed to you because you did not have the DM expansion.
Access to game functions were the only things that changed.
When you go to the Zone board to log in you have to log into the room that supports your software.
AC original can't log in to a DM room or vise versa.
Hope this helps.

Sangria, your first two lines are completely WRONG.
The software IS EXACTLY THE SAME. The ONLY difference is where the quicklaunch in directed to.
I have played AC and ACDM accounts ON THE SAME COMPUTER.
