I'm a past player of AC, i started in Beta and played for about 3 years before life got too busy for much time to play. So just last night i decided to play again and i bought the game online, downloaded the files, installed, yadda yadda. I was pleasently surprised to see my old characters were still there. So I go to play and i get stuck in the login portal. "Get stuck" isn't quite right, i enter the portal with a green link and after about a minute to 90seconds it pops up a message "Connection to Server Lost" or something equally unhelpful. I've rebooted my machine, my routher and my cable box about 15times. I've renewed my DNS about 10times and still to no avail. Now, almost 24hours later i'm starting to get a little irritated. So if anyone can help me to fix, or at least get a clue as to why i'm unable to connect i'd be greatly appreciative.

Oh, i saw the thread about the routers being a problem, mine is a speedstream wireless if you think it might be that.

Anyhow, thanks for the help in solving this problem.

Shugo (or Shugp in this case) and I registered our account at the same time. We both left the game a while ago and recently got the urge to come back.

We're both having the same connectivity problems as he described in his post. We can't connect to any of the servers, though.

Hopefully this problem gets solved soon... I'm dyin' here:D

Im having the same problem here.

I just moved to a new town, now when i try to log in, all I get is the same exact thing you just described.

I called my ISP, no ports blocked, I looked all over the FAQ, nothing exactly like this listed, tried some things I thought were related.

What do we do turbine? How do we fix this?

The funny thing is, my old connection had a router on it and AC worked fine, my new place Im trying to play connected directly to my connection.

This seems to be a pervasive problem since the patch. I can get into any other worly except FF on my main computer. However, I can get into FF on a different computer. This problem started ag\fter the June update. I have done everything including uninstalling and reinstalling AC. The standard answer so far has been to check your firewall or go to the Turbine support site neither of those suggestions is helpful.

Again I was playing before the patch then went through the standard monthly update process as I have done for the last 2 years and now cannot get in...

Well Problem is soleved...This was Turbines response to my inquiry..."To resolve this issue please follow these steps to Power Cycle your
modem and router.

1. Unplug the power from the Modem and Router for 30 seconds
2. Plug the Modem back in and wait for it to synchronize its
connection
3. Plug the Router back and let it go through its diagnostics 4. Connect to the world you were having trouble with"

I cannot believe I did not do all of this sooner...I recycled my DSL modem but not my router..
