So, the Lugians are working with the Burun, very interesting.
Oh and first reply.

I know there was a rumor about the splinter groups of Tummies and Luggies trying to contact the Burun but I didn't think they would join this early. Hmmm...Looks like a decent fighting force...the speed of the Tummies, the brute force of the Luggies and the magic prowess of the Burun...dangerous mixture.
First post, second post, bah, who cares.

Less time in scroll shops, i'm not sure what to make of what you're eluding too. . .hmmm

I've always considered the 'renegade' Lugian/Tumeroks a rather sad little distraction... they were never really a threat, never really a major consideration...
That hasn't changed :-|

less time in the scroll shops refers to scrolls dropping on creatures a lot more now.
I bought a few level 1 and 2 scrolls and the rest have basically come from creature drops. Very few stops at the shop to fill in the gaps.

and that is what they (renegades) are counting on....
teaser is good
am i the only one who thinks the teaser screenshots are almost always too dark to tell what is going on, or to really be interested at all...for example the lugie picture, i cant make out the skin color or the armor color or anything. Maybe it's just me? It's nto mkaing me interested because i cant make anything at all out. Am I the only one who has this?

Well of course they are dark, they don't want to give it all away.
I get frustrated too but, we will all see soon enough.

not bad not bad. i like the art work. kudo's to the art work senerio! <spelling? arg i'm bad at spelling>
that other dungeon though. the dark looking almost almost reminded me of the first mage armor quest where you have the trails.
Also with the opening of the new server i give it a woot woot!

Just a thought Ibn. What if...(hate to say that) Turbine could produce a "traitor". That is someone (a playa, no less) that gets flagged with a butt load of gems that summon Burrun(or whatever) attacks within a grid and gets a token to rename them the "betrayer". An inverse of a portal gem, I know, but a heckuva new line in player interaction. The power to summon PvM into a town by a lowly player(if I had that power it would be Ayan :p ) would be cool. Anyhow, just something to mix it up.
Respectfully,

I like the new teaser, and I think the pic of the luggies, tummies, and burun at the portal is out in the swamps. I hunt there regularly for D powders,,,,is this where our next piece of ancient armor may be? lol
Great artwork, and it peaks my interest as to if the tummies, luggies and burun will start attacking towns, may make it last longer than two minutes and give people time to get there before it is over,,,lol

Just a thought - the line where it mentioned "spending less time in the shops of those who sell scrolls" (Or something)... could that be alluding to actually needing fewer spells, i.e., the multi-stat/skill spells?
It didnt say anything to indicate that it was the case... just a thought, though.

Niarltah paused briefly, his eyes narrowing. “Apparently a particularly bright Mosswart approached the Isparians, asking for help. According to my spies, the results were mixed. A Mosswart!” Niarltah spat. “On our world some of us hunted them for sport!”
Niarltah apparently is a (Renegade) Tumerok. And he talks about Mosswarts.
What does he mean by "on our world" ?
Are Tumeroks and Mosswarts NOT from Dereth ? If not, apparently they came from the same "our world" ?
We Isparians came to Dereth from Ispar, but where did Tumeroks and Mosswarts come from ? and more importantly - HOW ?
Did Asheron provide them with portals as well ?
And what about the Lugians ? Are *they* genuine Derethians ?

There are only a handful of native Derethians left, including Sclavus, Moarsmen, Gromnies, and a handful of creatures on Marae.
Tumeroks, Mosswarts, Banderlings, and Drudges are all from a world called Ezheret (well, technically "Ezheret-Hazahtu", but it's a little complicated). Lugians are from a world called Tuu. They got here the same as every non-native Derethian: Portals to their world were accidentally opened when Asheron sent his people into portalspace. He never provided anyone intentionally.

Hrm.... I smell an equivalent of the @fillcomps command for purchasing missing scrolls. Or perhaps better organization of the scrolls themselves.
Either way, or even if it's something totally different, any change to make buying scrolls easier is a good thing.

I am pretty sure I read somewhere that the scrolls would be organized better in the shops. But, of course, I cannot find it now. (Devs, hire a summer intern to organize your website for us search impaired people, please.)

I'd say a great letter. It seems the storyline is really revolving around the actual game, instead of a simple side quest. Afterall, it says..
Niarltah’s grin grew wider. “It tells us what they are not doing, my friend. They are not, as yet, attempting to block our plans. They are not increasing their attacks on the newcomers. I believe they are still thinking that they should wait and see.”
And that is true. No one is really doing anything about burun right now, people don't quite care. I think they will soon.:)

In addition, my reports state that the Isparians have found means to prepare for battle more quickly, and that they are spending less time in the shops of those who sell magical scrolls.” Niarltah waited for Muldaveus to reply.
It means that we already spend less time in shops. Which means that we already have lots of critters dropping scrolls. Less time needing to spend buying them.

That is what I said at the beginning of this thread. It may also be that they are re organising the order of the scrolls as well...

Yep....perfect example!
Here we have a player with three toons in excess of 126th level and he comments that renegades are puny and not worth his time! OF COURSE NOT!
I hope DEV realises the issues and disregards those statements.
What I would love to see are some Quests or Miss-Adventures where Items are well worth the threats to get.
Many Quest Items are nie-impossible to get by solo-ists of the same level of the creatures that must be conquered.
Fellowships and group alliegence runs are great and designing a mass battle for alleagence or monarchy wars would be great.
IMAGINE:
Having sectors of territories being the responcability of a monarchy and killing off all the monsters in those territories would be great, especially if there was a date and timer set to accomplish this. A small gratuity or global announcement stating that the area of such and such monarchy is now safe to travel through for a week would be cool!
I love the alliegence and fellowships as this is how all small battles are won However, I travel the world of Derith and there are many places that are not traveled and that need to be "PACIFIED". Why not give monarchies a reward for doing this.
Reward Suggestion:
1) Monarchy gets a free month on there rent due to the collected revenue from the creatures slain or driven back.
2) Monarchy has no respawn of critters, on their territories for a day after the "CLEANSING"
3) A Hero of the day, of that monarchy is globally announced. This Hero or Heroine slew the most critters defending the realm.
Just a couple Ideas.
