After 10 years of playing, a new popup error has now been appearing since yesterday for me:

acclient.exe - No Disk

"There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive D:.

Cancel / Try Again / Continue

Okay, when have we ever played with a disk? This message appears after selecting a game world (for me Frostfell) on the client. Choosing "Cancel" or "Continue" then rather jolts the screen to the fullscreen connecting and updating vials, and I can continue playing normally.

Bizarre...I have been running Windows 7 since May, and I yesterday did change my old dying router from a Linksys WRT150N to a new Netgear WNDR37000. I wonder what else might have change, or what buried *.ini or *.cfg needs updating.

On the upper right of the screen such as from here and from the AC home page there's a link to "My Account," that should be an SSL link to the account logon page and not a standard insecure HTTP link. It takes manually substituting https for http on the link to get to the SLL edition, and that seems unnecessary since you have the SSL edition running. Seems like an easy fix.

Why do you seem to leave things in the game for years, then suddenly decide it isn't working as intended, then completely change it? It just pisses people off, and it really doesn't make much sense to decide 3 years later that something isn't working as intended.

I have no vested interest in colosseum. I've never even run the quest, nor done the bosses -- but lots of people have, and lots of people do. According to the AC wiki, they were introduced in 2007. Why change it now? This certainly isn't the first time.

Where is the logic behind changing things years and years later, rationalizing with "it isn't working as intended." Really? And it took 3 years? (In this particular instance.)

Not trying to be inflammatory, but this confuses me and I'm sure it pisses a lot of people off.

In an effort to avoid derailing NoWorries’ thread, I am posting a new thread asking about what other “fixes” should we look forward to should there finally be enough time to address them.

It comes from this statement:

Quote:

The Viamontian Staging Area was never intended to have the landscape spawns hunted for power leveling.

The strecthed and smudged textures on the trees post ToD were intended to be properly placed textures that looked like bark.

Players are not supposed to be able to PKL through locked doors.

Sometimes issues get put on the back burner so that new content can be focused on. Other times the issues are put on hold so that other issues can be fixed first. Occasionally we even forget about an issue that needs to be fixed since we are human.

We have added a lot of new features and expanded on parts of the game in the past year. We have also fixed many issues, some of which had been around for years. Most of the issues are accepted by players as positive fixes to the game, however, it is inevitable that some of the fixes will be viewed as nerfs.

There is no cover-up being done that requires special wording to mislead players. This is a fix and it has been planned for a while now. We had talked about putting it in one of the patches before now but we decided to hold off until more of the XP improvements were added into the game which is why we are going ahead with this in November.

You gave a few in that list, but can you provide a comprehensive (if not exhaustive) list of everything you would like to get “fixed”?

I actually could care less about the colo trophies, I tired of them trying to run a bunch of characters through for a couple of weeks, but what else do you plan such changes to?

Colosseum and XP changes

Colosseum Changes

We have been discussing making a change to the Colosseum Boss Trophy...

Colosseum Changes

We have been discussing making a change to the Colosseum Boss Trophy mechanic for some time now. The original intent of these bosses did not include having them farmed so that their trophies could be ivoried and others could then use them to power level. In fact, the XP gems were put on the vendor in Colosseum for the sole purpose of having a way of passing XP to other players.

Since we were improving the experience gained in the lower character levels, we wanted to hold off on making this change until we had finished enough of these changes. With the addition of the Facility Hub, improvements to quest XP, and an upcoming adjustment to creature XP, we feel a good time for this change will be November.

Starting in the November patch the XP gained from Colosseum Bosses will be received upon handing in the token they drop, not from the item you receive upon handing in the token. At that time the NPC will also no longer take any of the pre-existing items people have collected (All pre-existing tokens can still be handed in for XP). So turn in all of the ones you wish to use before that patch.

We realize this will be seen as a nerf by some of our players but it is actually adjusting the system so that Colosseum is used in the intended way. With how quickly players can level now as compared with when the Colosseum was first introduced, the abuse of this system is no longer necessary by players who wish to get up to high levels quickly.

To go along with this change more versions of the XP gems have been added to the vendor. New gems are 50mil at 20 coins, 20mil at 10 coins, 9mil at 5 coins, 3mil at 2 coins and 1mil at 1 coin.

Creature XP changes

Another change that will also be in effect in November is that creature experience and levels have been adjusted to be more in line with the high xp areas of the game. When ToD was introduced it brought with it several areas where the XP was significantly higher then the existing XP in the game. With November's patch, all of the other creatures in the game will be brought up to these levels. This means that someone who likes to hunt the Fiuns dungeon will not notice much of a difference in their XP earning, but a player who is hunting on the landscape or questing will notice a significant increase in their XP per kill. This should allow people to enjoy a much larger variety of content without having to worry that they are doing so while taking a penalty in earning experience.

Quest Updates

One last change I'd like to mention is that some of the older quests that are no longer used due to how quickly people level past them will be getting readjusted for higher level players so that they have a reason to be used again. At this time we do not know how many of these quests will be adjusted for the November patch. I can say that the first one on the list (which has already been mostly updated at this point) is the Mage Academy quest. Many of you may know it as Lady Jaera's Tomb Quest. It will be a 150+ quest and have some pretty tough monsters in it. The tomb will now create top tier loot as well as a trophy to be turned in for a good chunk of XP.

Hello all! Let me first say welcome or WB!!! I'm glad to see you decided to play or come back to AC. I have started a clan specifically for new and returning players. The reason for this is because I know how hard it is when you come back being a low lvl, and not getting to do much with your clan mates cause a lot of things done now are lvl 150+. In our clan we have a nice group of people who hunt and quest together (they range from lvls 90-130). We are very helpful, and try and do quests together as much as we can. One thing I can say is I do NOT run a guild quest that everyone can't participate in.

My goal for this clan is to bring AC back the way it used to be. Group hunts, quests, and good friends!! We have 1 rule, HAVE FUN!! So if you are interested in joining a fun clan you can contact me IG on Shino Aburame, if I'm not on you can try and message Kafir he may be on. Regardless whether you'd like to join or not I will be more than happy to assist you IG anyway I can!

Hope to you see all soon!!
