Weekly Update 4/18/06
Hello there everyone. I hope we all had a great weekend. In case some of you are wondering why this update is coming out on a Tuesday, it is due to Monday having been a holiday here. Let’s get right on to things.
The first of our scheduled and unscheduled Live Ops have begun on many of the worlds. We have seen some good turnouts for these events, and hopefully we will continue to see more and more of you show up and join in the activities.
We would also like to announce that we have a new fan-site added to the list of sites that will be getting the latest news and teaser images from us. We are happy to announce that Sucamarto's AC Heaven is now a part of our fan-site family. They will be getting teaser images and news as other fan-sites have been. We are excited about adding yet another resource for us to be able to get information out to you the players. You can check out some of our fan-sites on this page.
One thing that has come up a lot lately is bot’s in the main room of the Marketplace. After discussing things with the team, we have decided that ALL bots should now stay out of the main room of the Marketplace. If a bot is found to be in the main room, they will be moved by customer service. If the same bot is then continually found in the main room, they may be subject to removal from the Marketplace until they can be contacted by customer support. Our hope is that this will help those people who are sometimes having issues portaling into the Marketplace.
Finally, we just want to put out the reminder to join us tonight at 7pm EST for a live Developer’s chat. You can get all the information on this event here . We are looking forward to seeing and hearing from as many of you as possible.
That’s about it for today. Everyone have a great week, and see you all in Dereth!

Bots in main room. You have just decided this. I could have sworn this was already a policy. So you all just now decided you were gonna enforce a policy thats been in place for a very long time. Great job Turbine, now maybe you can do the same with macroing.

We are still working on the issue with the keys and it will hopefully be resolved soon. If I had any more news on these I would have posted it. As far as the bots go, the policy was no tradebots in the main room. This new policy includes all bots, not just tradebots.

Wonderful, Turbine will police buffbots in the main room of the marketplace but refuse to do a thing about the 27 at all times UCM's in EO, The UCM's in the Eater Vaults, The UCM's in Fiuns Lab. Turbine makes me feel ashamed that I play AC. A few of the Turbine fanboi's post about bots in main room Turbine must take action. Hundreds post about UCM in EO and post gets locked with Andy's not the place to discuss PM me response.

Re: Weekly Update 4/18/06
well if you wanna get all cranky about it how about explain something to me------why is it people talk smack about ucm'er in dungeons and not a word about bots--------free buff bots i can understand and have high respects for. bots in mp are nothing more than ucm'er getting other peeps money/plats.
but in all honesty if you want to talk smack about ucm'er, dont just talk about the parts that intrest you; talk about it as a whole----
personally i dont give a crap about any of ucm'er in any form. they pay to play the game. maybe it is wrong for them to "get in the way" so to speak; however, before i come to the public boards with the "they're in my spot" crap ill just stand beside them or better yet get in the fellow and hunt-----if nothing else its a big boost in xp to hunt with ucm'ers in those dungeons.
just my penny and a half

The keys should take preference over 2 bots in the main room. I know you take all things into consideration but the bots are not nearly the problem that we have with keys, lag, graphics blitz in some dungeons, spells not firing, etc.
How bout some answers to the longstanding vital problems rather than something that is just a slight annoyance?

Now, Now. It's been probably 4+ years or so of dealing with ineffective UCM enforcement......doth thou expecteth proper enforcement now?
Blame the beloved decal makers for not blogging the ucm programs from running.....shame on the decal makers....

Whatever, keep making the problem bigger than it is. Today in leafcull all 3 EOs were completely empty! I even told everyone about it on general chat and no one even bothered to show up. While UCMing is a problem, I doubt it is nearly as big as some people are making it out to be. I can always find empty spots in EO.

I never claimed UCM is not a problem. However, it is not as big as many people seem it to be

Re: Weekly Update 4/18/06
Bots in the main room are a problem. PKLing in the main room is a problem too, it affects me portalling in as much as the bots. I hope and expect you will do something about this situation as well. Unlike the continuous use of foul language in the General channel that goes unchecked. Yes, yes, we can squelch yes, yes, we can shut off the GC but really, did Turbine actually develop the GC so all the pinks could talk "smack" ad nauseum, to the detriment of the "general population"? and why do we have to give up use of a "general channel" if we are offended by a select group that should have their very own channel so they can wax poetic all night long to one another leaving the general population to focus on topics of General interest and not the continuous ongoing saga of who dissed who, who runs away, who ganks who, I mean really, it's getting completely annoying. Please focus on your name, -Turbine Entertainment Having to put up with this steady onslaught of poo poo pee pee stuff is really not entertaining. Please give them their own channel and keep the General Channel free for topics of General interest!

Now im like, ok its been closing on 24 or so days since this announcement and i have no idea when this is going to happen. It could be tommorw(unlikely), next week, or never(likely). I know i can order a copy from AC but my opinion is if they dont care enough about this game to put the resources to make it a game available on-line that cannot be bought in most stores then do i really want to buy anohter copy. It sickens me that DDO has it available for on-line purchase when it is still in all shops.
It pretty much seems obvious to me that Turbine has given up on AC. When the game cannot be purchased and the dont seem excited at all about making it available, that is a problem. So it kinda seems to me that im wasting my time hoping that this game is going to last a while longer when it seems obvious that Turbine has completly given up on it.
Action speaks a lot louder than words Turbine. Your talk sounds good Turbine. Your actions are pathetic. I just for the life of me cannot understand why you dont think this is a big deal. How it can take you 4 months to do something that is pretty common place. And in the weekly update you cannot even say anything about it even though you know its a big deal to some. Thats the problem, its a big deal to some, Just not to Turbine.

A better post would of been:
Freelorn, how can we get it across to your CEO that we don't like the lack of concern for Asheron's Call? Perhaps you could create a mail bag just for Mr. Anderson.

Re: Weekly Update 4/18/06
Gratz for Sucamarto...very well deserved.
Ive read a lot of posts about ucm'ers over the years Ive played this game off and on, and Ive come to realize a couple of things...
First, I think Turbine wants to make all its player base as happy as they can, including the UCM'ers....they to pay to play just like the non-UCM'ers. If they didnt, I'm sure they could put in some code somewhere that would stop combat if a hardware keystroke wasnt typed within a certain period of time. But I dont think they (Turbine) really want to go to that extreme.
Second, Ive gone to lots of camps and dungeons and have seen them so full of peeps both UCM and not, and have had to find less popular spots to hunt. So does it make THAT big a difference if the person plays UCM? If Turbine didnt have a policy about UCM in the CoC, would this even be an issue to the playerbase? I mean really?

Regarding the Marketplace Bot Enforcement Policy:
I guess what I don't understand is the difference between a couple of buffbots buffing in the main room of the marketplace and a couple dozen people going AFK or going pink and fighting. Is kicking bots out of the main room really going to solve any of the problems?
