Weekly Update 6/5/06

Hello there everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend.

I want to start off with a reminder of this week’s upcoming downtime on Thursday June 8th, from 4am EST - 6pm EST. This downtime is needed to replace and prepare the database servers for the upcoming world server upgrades. We are very excited about these changes and we hope you all are as well. I will do my best to keep you updated on the status of this downtime throughout the day; though I fear most of the updates will be as simple as “Everything is still on schedule and going smooth”.

Let’s get on to what we are doing this week. The team is busy going through the June event and making sure that everything is working and ready to go live. This includes the final runs at balancing things to the way we like, and making sure that everything is working correctly. This is the time that we get to run through all of the new content a couple of times and have some fun testing the new stuff.

We are also in the process of getting our designs ready for the July event. This is the time where we sit down and figure out where we want to go in July and how we want the events to unfold.

Unless something major is found to cause a delay, I will be releasing the June Letter to the Players on Friday, along with a little bonus surprise for the June event that we are working on.

That’s about it for now. This is a busy week for us as we head into the June event, and as always if there is anymore news or updates about what is going on this week I will make sure and post it here.

Everyone have a great week, and see you all in Dereth!

Awesome. If the timer was magically reset to nothing on both the Jaw and the Gem pickup so that everyone could go on patch day and start the timers over so they'd be even, it'd be wonderful. <3

Well, now that you blew the good news from the Lttp, will there be a reason to read it?

Looking forward to the Lttp in any case...

Now with the Aug timer being dropped down to 27 days, any bets on how soon before people will be asking for even shorter timers?

Re: Weekly Update 6/5/06

People HAVE been asking for short timers and especially no timer at all since the XP to get the gems is enough of a cost...why it has not happened yet is a whole different question.

Question Re: Weekly Update 6/5/06

Frelorn,

Just a question here so Im hoping you wont take offense or think Im being unappreciative of your hard work but have you noticed the update is basically the same thing every week.

We get a hello hope you had a great weekend, the team is working hard on a few specific areas this week, a teaser, and a cya later have fun every week.

While I appreciate the info and Im sure others do as well, wouldn't you agree that in addition to the above you would greatly enhance everyones time spent here on the boards if you took a few questions from some topic or interesting post/suggestions from the previous week and possibly add something to the discussion... from the mundane anecdote, to a sliver of a hint ,to a rumor crushing death blow... anything that sparks a little debate, brainstorming or adventures in game.

I guess what Im wanting is just a tad more ummphf out of the update since in game issues (besides technical stuff) rarely get addressed via a direct CSR/Dev response any more, although I have to admit Im here every Monday after work checking it out

Re: Weekly Update 6/5/06

Just wondering. Is there any plans on fixing the Aerlinthe quests. I tried to do the recall scroll and there was no npc to give the bellows. I still tried to finish the quest but couldn't get portal to spawn to last dungeon. Also was trying to get the fire infusions but those monsters never seem to spawn, been checking everyday for 2 weeks, nothing.
