Weekly Update 9/12/06
Hello there everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend!
As most of you know by now, it’s time for the September event, Come What Follows. This is the month we let pets roam free in Dereth for the first time, and we are all very excited about this. Please keep in mind however that they are still a work in progress and sometimes may act a bit… funny. Over time we will continue to adjust things as we go to improve how pets work and what they can do. Those little guys are pretty cute, though.
We also know that some of you are concerned over what impact pets will have on game performance. We feel that this should not be an issue, but we will be watching things closely over the next few weeks to make sure that there is no negative impact from the Pets.
As was pointed out yesterday in another thread, our advertisements have begun to show up online, this time over at the Microsoft Marketplace. This is the first of many more ads that we, along with many of our partners will be running.
This week we are working on all things Festival, as we are in full swing on development for the October event. This is the time when all the writing is done and the beginnings of implementation start. This is the fun time, when all of the little details of each thing being done get worked out.
Finally we would like to thank everyone for the suggestions given to us in last weeks update for quests or areas you would like to see us go back and take another look at. I am gathering all of that information together for the team and we will go from there deciding what to do with all those suggestions. That kind of feedback is very important to us, so again thank you.
Everyone have a great week!

Does this pertain to the next storyline? Or to the next setup of monthly content the AC team plans on creating? If for the story line, I sure hope the Grael arc has taught a lesson on how not to end an arc.

Re: Weekly Update 9/12/06
Since y'all are (hopefully) still planning the Festival masks and guises:
Could we get guises to match our pets? Ursuin guises are already in-game, but what about drudges, thrungus, and armoredillos?
Pretty please?

Re: Weekly Update 9/12/06
Hey, there's a question nobody's asked ^
Actually while i'm here asking about specifics, have the new items for writs been added as was stated a few weeks back after the major nerf to bmk chests?
Now as far as October, i'd like to see an updated virindi shroud that when worn would make you're legs disapear and give you the look of floating across the landscape!

Re: Weekly Update 9/12/06
I'm sure Turbine will never, if ever try to implement a balance. I could never have thought a simple add for an expensive augment could be so difficult.

Re: Weekly Update 9/12/06
Sure they may brush it under the rug for a while, but as long as I play I will make it known that it is a issue that needs to be addressed. I don't care if there comes to be two million more than the already million threads about it.

Re: Weekly Update 9/12/06
Well, the reason why I say what I said is because they already coem out wiht barely any quests. A fix takes forever for them to come about, with the exception of DI.

Re: Weekly Update 9/12/06
This game does not need more damn quests. How many burried vaults are there? Rat holes, bug nests, haunted castles. The ones we have now need to be tweaked for xp rewards and game play improved. DI, trophies, Isle of Ruin improvements, pets, an eventual attempt at following through with two-handed weapons, continued advertising, small story driven timed and live events ... those are what AC needs.
As for the pre-order balance. That's really one of two areas the current devs have left me with a sour taste. The other being that damn Tumerok Lag.
The devs commented on both areas and promised some sort of action ... an update would be nice.

I'd rather have action then words.

Re: Weekly Update 9/12/06
I understand that tarma but what Frelorn said (I think it was Frelorn) was that they would post a list of possible ideas for balancing the pre-order gem. Then they (the devs) would ask for feed back on that list and go with the most popular idea.

One does not mean you need to forego the other and vice versa...and to be honest I’m tired of lip service and lack of follow up. People come here and respectfully give the feedback they ask for and get nothing in return. It's high time we get the answers and as Gustaive has so eloquently put it the action to back it up!
Gus, i along with many others have asked about Dark Isle and have not gotten an answer, that to me is not feedback, it's ignoring the player base.

Re: Weekly Update 9/12/06
lol Vlad I don't agree there. The boards are just as full of critical feedback as ever.

I agree with Gustaive here.
