Live Event - Team Gladiator
TEAM GLADIATOR - your day of glory
Its back, bigger and better than ever!
So you think you are tough? That your fellowship can stand up to anyone on your world?
Well now is your chance to prove that, its time to put your best armour on and sharpen your blades.
This weekend we will be inviting you to form a fellowship with up to eight of your closest friends to face the best the world has to offer.
Each contest will consist of up to three teams competing against each other in mortal combat, in a fight to the death. The winning team will be the one that has at least one team member alive when all their opponents have died.
So what are you waiting for? Gather your team in preparation.
The Rules:
Teams can be Player Killer Lites or Player Killers, Red teams on "white" worlds will be able to compete if sufficient teams apply.
Any clothing/armour/weapons/magic may be used.
Any buffs may be used.
Any player porting or logging from the contest area will be disqualified.
Any player not abiding by the LEM/LEO requests will be ported from the contest area.
Fellowships wishing to take part must submit their Fellowship name, Leader and World and if PINK or RED team, to me via PM on this forum, BEFORE the event is due to start. Darktide players must also specify which time slot
We will conduct as may Gladiator fights as time permits on each world.
The Mechanics:
A LEO will contact and visit your team in-game.
Start buffing immediately !!
A Book listing your Fellowship name and members must be handed to the LEO.
Shortly thereafter you will be transported to the arena.
Combat starts as soon as you arrive !!
Those requiring to recover their bodies will be ported back when the bout has finished.

You can never please everyone. That is just how it is.

As it is, I'd bet that the majority of players on the US set of servers play in the US, thus more events are geared towards them.

Re: Live Event - Team Gladiator
This was great fun...hopefully more of these to come.
+LeO's handled it very smoothly and there was minimal lag for the amount of people there and action going on.

Re: Live Event - Team Gladiator
I guess I'll share what was posted on the VNboards about the event.
"Me and the killer were last to be portaled in, when i got in, there was one person left from our group and all i saw were pink X's."
"it was dumb, the other team was dead before everyone dl'd. It was unfairly matched, and hardly worth my time for attending."
"Sounds kinda badly organised for the amount of hassle it was to set up/run."
"Thank God I dont play AC anymore."
I wasn't there but good job Jolt! haha but congrats to Oreo

Re: Live Event - Team Gladiator
just won my second fight of the day...
got a few suggestions:
1....work on the timing...we were waiting nearly an hour after the scheduled time to fight..by then most of the guys logged
2....this is probably the most important: make sure everyone portals in together. I was portalled in first, along with my guildmate, and it was 2v6v8 at the beginning. We didnt get our full fellow in for about another 3 minutes. This can drastically change the course of the fight, luckily we stayed up until our fellow came, but i know of others that weren't so lucky.
thats it for now that i can see...other than that it was a blast

Re: Live Event - Team Gladiator
Perhaps people could turn pink at the site or reds could be warned before-hand not to attack until given the ready.

Re: Live Event - Team Gladiator
prob the best event in 2 years......
Was really fun, we did have to wait a bit long, but was fun when it started
Think the spot for the fight is very good as well, it is like exactly the right size. I think the only thing that would make it even more fun would be to make it 9v9 instead of 9v9v9.
Meel.

Re: Live Event - Team Gladiator
Stupidest Event ever....though the Idea was good.
Mind you our clan has many Hardcore PKL'ers, all who are very skilled and have really high stats. The other two teams admit they just joined to watch the event, (so they didn't even care about whether they won or lost) Anyways we were selected for the first round against 2 other teams (27 people total) we slaughtered them in like 20 seconds, +leo's gave us our little gem trophy and said we were done. Our team was like wtf its over , we won. Ok cool. We won first round and +Leo said we were finished. Well then there come round two over a global........WTF is this...Chimeara's post specifically said this is a contest to see who is "TOP" Team Gladiator on the server.
My beef is this.
If my clan is winner of round one? and another clan is winner of round two? and another is winner of round three? The who the hell is the Team Gladiator of the server???????????????????????????????????????????? ????????????
There isn't one, so wtf was this event for?????
