I have the same problem. 3 of my computers generally completely lock up when I go to that damn website. My other computer seems to work? This happens on virtually no other websites I ever go to. It's very frustrating and annoying.

personally, i think they should be forced to remove the ads that block the use of the site, and replace them with ads that do not lock up the most used web browser in the world.

Also, are you logged on to wikia or not? Being logged on reduces the number of ads. Wikia accounts are global so you can create an account on another wikia site, like help.wikia.com, and be signed on at asheron.wikia.com.

I am not sure what kind of computer you're running to have the site bog down your browser like that, but I agree that the number of ads is a tad on the ridiculous side. BUT, if you register and log in, 80% of them disappear, and the only ones to remain are three images at the bottom. Signing up for anything is a pain, but in this case, it's actually worth it.

I have Firefox + Ad Block Plus. I don't have many problems with Wiki. One time just before the patch my virus program AVG caught some Ad trying to install a virus. Luckily it was blocked. Have not had any more problems with it for the past week.

you cant log on until AFTER the page loads. if the page wont load, you cant log in.

i use IE7 on the machine in question. i got a tell from someone ingame that said they were having the same problem, and finally got it to load after they rebooted their machine. i dont know if that helped, but i got it to load only after the ad that was locking me up cycled to a different ad.

Being on dial-up with an older machine, the wiki hasn't given me this much trouble, tho I've long since given up on the VN boards, which take so long to load for me that I can watch my beard turn grey waiting for it. Maggie the Jackcat's AC site still loads at the drop of a hat, regardless of what I'm doing, go figure.

And it put a add tracking cookie that some times mess up the explore.. so pute your explore to private Filtering.. that should stop it
