Re: 10th Anniversary Teaser!
Frelorn,
Can we create "account" wide journals, can we somehow import journals from other characters?

As soon as I have a good one, I will post it. Some things are still being finalized.

Yes, I do believe this is going to be possible.

Re: 10th Anniversary Teaser!
does the quest journal automatically post quests as you do them? or do you have to write all the info down?
Say you do BC, do you have to write down the info, or can you look at journal and see it add BC automatically(including the timer) and when you have done it, and on which chars?
And would it show other accounts, or just the one that the char is part of?

Re: 10th Anniversary Teaser!
Alz, I think they've said its all manual, and thats the way it looks.
It a page that holds text, a countdown timer and a location recorder. Thats it, simple, and manual.
You go run the quest and then reset the timer so that it counts down from the value that you enter.
Automation would be nice, but K.I.S.S. works for me too.

Re: 10th Anniversary Teaser!
I prefer the automated timer updating in Quest Timer. Reason being is that not everyone is going to know what part of a quest is going to reset their timer. It could be upon handing in an item, or upon pickup. Putting that on the player to remember each time I'm not sure is going to work out well. A work-around is to put in the notes what the reset trigger is, but it's a work-around.
Work-arounds is why we have Decal and 3rd party apps in the first place.
The quest journal shows a lot of promise, and I'm guessing there's some little bits I'm not quite seeing since it's a teaser, I'm looking at the "new" page for the journal, etc.
I wasn't -quite- sure if this was account wide but the panel shows two Nexus Crawler entries, one with a label of Main and another Mule. So it seems likely.
For me, I have more than one account. Quest Timer lets me view all the accounts' characters, as I'm sure you Devs have seen. Will this be possible!?

Journals are per character. After several design spec meetings we decided that we didn't want to "expose" the player to disk and file management. The quest journal is saved automagically and no one has to worry about it.
Since quest timers are stored in that file, having multiple characters access the same file introduced too much complexity on sorting which timers belonged to which characters. The interface became too messy too quickly. We went with a simple and clean design.
That said, the file is saved in the same folder as your preferences and the format is in plain text. When creating a new character an intrepid player could duplicate an existing journal and rename it.

Re: 10th Anniversary Teaser!
First of all I must applaud you guys on the hard work you've done on all of this and it's more like a free expansion pack in scope of everything you've revealed to date... well done .
I have two questions in line with what Heid already mentioned:
1) Is the journal completely manual... I only ask as per the screenshot the Timer entry doesn't appear to be editable? If so I'll more than likely still use Quest Timer as well for it's added functionality.
2) What is the character limit per page and how many pages per journal entry can we have?
Thanks again for all of your hard work.
