Make sure trinkets are in inventory for patch!
Hey all,
For the patch next week make sure broken/illegal trinkets are in your inventory!
Coming up soonish (next week if everything goes as planned) is a small patch to fix bugs.
As part of this patch, bad trinket spells that break the major/moderate/minor rule (or the rule that you cannot add more than one of the same type) will be stripped and the owner of the trinket will gain quest flags to be eligible for some salvage and armatures.
If you own a trinket and it is improperly imbued make it is in your inventory before the patch. After the trinket is stripped of illegal spells the code will attempt to add quest flags to the person holding the trinket in their inventory. If it is in a chest then you will not receive these quest flags.

You will not receive these quest flags...but the trinket will still be stripped - right? So - no where to run to baby...no where to hide!

Correct. The code is in the trinket itself. After it fixes itself it will look for an owner. If it can't find one, well, salvage and armatures aren't *that* hard to get.

Obviously *you* haven't blown up a bunch of major imbues in a row trying to get +6% xp!
I agree the salvaging isn't hard, but dang on the major armatures.

Will the quest flag contain "Foolproof Salvaged Armatures" for the ones that have epics on their trinkets?

Glad I made all of mine correctly. However, there is one small problem. Some trinkets I made required the use of a lore rare to equip. After the patch I'll have to take the trinket off in order to put the minor on. Then I'll have to use another lore rare to equip the trinket again.
Could the code in the trinket check my lore and if the trinket lore is higher than my lore flag me for an arcane lore rare? Or, can we get a statue someplace that you click on to raise your lore by ~100 pts? Then the statue could magically disappear after a couple days.

I belive it applies to all trinkets that are Ilegal..

No, the mats won't be foolproof.
Also, the maximum mats you can get for a trinket is one major, one moderate, and one minor per trinket and that's if there was an illegal combination in all three slots.

Trinkets that are legal won't be touched. Trinkets without spells are perfectly legal and wouldn't be changed.

Buying them from the society vendor allows you to get quite a few of them

With this bug patch, do you plan to fix the other issues like:
Damage Trinket not stacking with Damage Aug
Assess Person / Creature
Hollow and Phantom Weapons not being able to add Ivory
Red Rune Silveran Greatsword
Great Bloodscorch

There is no provision for Arcane Lore rares used to wield more powerful trinkets.

Stunna is correct, only trinekts with an illegal combination on them will be wiped and they'll be wiped ONLY of the "Augmented _______" spells it has.

Fixed.
Fixed. Assess Person and Assess Creature both get a +10 bonus before range modifiers are applied. This makes it a little easier to assess, and fixes the issue where a skill of 0 always failed even if the target had deception turned off.
