error 0x80041008 while patching

So i put on a router and had issues connecting my pc to internet afterwards...I went into internet options and reset the options to default and it connected fine...went back to get into ac and it started to not even connect at the blue bubble screen, then today went back even further and now when i put in pw and log on name, i get " Problem occured while pacthing : 0x80041008 any help would be appreciated, thanks..

Hi Sivester i had same problem yesterday so i downloaded the vista sp2 32bit and its solved that problem.
I can select server screen afterwards and go into the first loading and patch screen but the update blue line fails to change and i get " The connection to to server has been lost"
Anyway hope you manage to get in game

Yeah i just redownloaded ac and it fixed the patch issue...and now i can't get in game either i get to the patching bubbles just before the character selection and it i get connection lost also...

Damn i'm searching for a solution but can't seem to find anything that works for me
I guess i'll just have to hope someone elsemanaged to fix this and has a solutio that works or i'll be cancing my sub after less than a day

You are almost there ... Sounds like maybe the port for patching is not open through th erouter and redirected to the computer.

Generally, if it's Vista, SP2 addressed most of the issues on the PC side.

The initial signon is handled using one protocol and the patch and the game use another,
hence the "Error with Patching" message. This is from a timeout ... and generally means that
the PC is not being allowed to pass the UDP packets through. This is also the place that the
Virus software causes issues.

Analogy? Try to find a new car thgat uses carbueration. The injection method has obsoleted that technology, but my old classic carb cars still work ... You just might have to add some lead
back into the gas.....

All in all Fixable.

It's not an ideal solution, but if you find out the IP address of your PC (using 'ipconfig' in the command-line), and add that to the DMZ inside of your router, it will completely expose that PC to the Internet, and should rid all issues related to AC. Sadly, because AC's networking code is so bizarre, I have to take this same route, because no matter what I seem to do, I can never connect to the game otherwise. I can always log in, but lag out immediately.
