question about damage modifier

i asked this on the vn boards, but didn't get an answer.

my question is, what does the damage modifier on missile weapons do?

if i understood right, blooddrinker increases the damage.

so the damage mod lets you hit more often or does it increase damage as well?

another thing, could it be possible that the higher the damage mod on a missile weapon is the less stamina i use per shot?

no, the stamina used is fixed.. weapon/arrow burden or anything else doesnt matter for bow/xbow/atlatl stamina use

furthermore, the damage mod has nothing to do with +% to-Hit

the +% you see on a missile weapon is a damage bonus

example: your bow has +166%

that means you get 166% damage extra, aka the damage is multiplied by 2.66 (1+1.66)


a numbed down formula is basically

other mods(like your str/coord, al level, imbue effects, variance etc) * damage * missile mod

lets take for example DAP and Bd7 and 166% bow

in that case it would look like:
other mods(like your str/coord, al level, imbue effects, variance etc) * (30+22)*2.66

I dont know the exact numbers so lets just pretend ok?

You got a stick in your hand err i meant arrow. It has 5 damage. You put bd7 on your bow. Now your doing 10 damage. Now your bow has a 150% mod on it.

10 x 150% = 15 damage

But your bow is also stick rending and you got enough skill to make the vuln be 50% extra damage.

So your final total is like 20 damage woot!!

thats the common mistake, its not a mod per se, its a bonus


so 10 damage stick with 150% bow/xbow/atlatl -> 25 damage
